Activities at Tewkesbury Fields Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.
Paula Lourenco
Hello, my name is Paula and I’m the Activities coordinator at Tewkesbury Fields care home. I’ve joined Barchester healthcare in 2020.
As part of the lifestyle enrichment team, I will be organising daily activities, ensuring that residents have varied activities to choose from each day. I love enriching our residents’ lives, creating memories and be able to provide meaningful activities to each one of the residents living at Tewkesbury fields.
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Life at Tewkesbury Fields Care Home
Weekly Craft Club
From knitting, crochet, cross-stitch, embroidery and paper/fabric crafts, this week we've had a good selection of crafts at Tewkesbury Fields.
Residents have also started some of their own projects which are looking amazing, we look forward to showing all the completed works.
Visit from John Moore Museum
Another very interesting afternoon learning more about the history around Tewkesbury with the fantastic team from The John Moore Museum, Tewkesbury.
During the visit, Heritage Manager Kirstie Bingham and her team delivered the "Natural themed" talk, where residents got to learn so much and had the opportunity to ask questions.
Afternoon with the community choir
We had a wonderful afternoon with Leadon Vale Community Choir. The residents loved listening and participating alongside the choir
Thank you so much for bringing such joy and fun to everyone, not just the singing but also the jokes and stories that you shared between each song. Everyone commented on how much they've enjoyed the visit!
Relaxing by the River
This afternoon we went on a short drive in our minibus to sit by the river at Eckington picnic park. It is so peaceful there and was nice to relax by the riverside, and take time to read a few pages of our favourite books. We are so fortunate to have such tranquil areas of nature local to us.
Therapeutic day on the Canal
Amazing day spent aboard the The Willow Trust cruising along the Gloucester - Sharpness Canal.
We all had a wonderful time with the skipper and his volunteers who provided our residents with a therapeutic day out on the water.
The weather was just perfect, we enjoyed a picnic, steering the boat and admiring the scenery and embracing the tranquillity.
We always enjoy this day out.
A few things we enjoy!
We never get bored at Tewkesbury Fields!
All of our residents enjoy a variety of clubs and activities - today has been very varied. From Crafts to gardening and cuddles with the therapy dog. And we always have time for a bit of retail therapy in the local town of Tewkesbury.
