Activities at Tewkesbury Fields Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.
Paula Lourenco
Hello, my name is Paula and I’m the Activities coordinator at Tewkesbury Fields care home. I’ve joined Barchester healthcare in 2020.
As part of the lifestyle enrichment team, I will be organising daily activities, ensuring that residents have varied activities to choose from each day. I love enriching our residents’ lives, creating memories and be able to provide meaningful activities to each one of the residents living at Tewkesbury fields.
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Life at Tewkesbury Fields Care Home
Marion turns 102!
Here at Tewkesbury Fields Care Home - Barchester Healthcare, we’ve been celebrating another VERY special lady! Today, Marion turns 102 years old! Marion was one of the first residents here at Tewkesbury Fields and we feel so honoured to be able to celebrate with her today! Marion is always smiling and is a ray of sunshine in the home!
Today Marion is having a tea party with staff, residents, family and friends! We asked Marion what her secret to living to 102 was and she answered “laughter, never taking life to seriously and always being happy for others!” What an outstanding answer!
Our manager, James says “Marion is a wonderful lady and we hope she has the best day celebrating turning 102 at Tewkesbury Fields.”
Let the celebrations begin! Platinum Jubilee 2022!
This morning we kicked off the festivities by watching the trooping of the colour in Bushley Lounge. Residents, families and staff gathered and watched with such pride of our Royal family. The next couple of days are going to be full of fun – stay tuned for more pictures!
Preparing for the Jubilee - Flower Arranging
We had a lovely morning flower arranging with our residents! They made beautiful displays and positioned them around the home ready for the upcoming Jubilee festivities.
Thank you Tewkesbury Food Bank
We invited the lovely ladies from the Tewkesbury Food Bank to come and visit Tewkesbury Fields Care Home and enjoy some homemade cake by our very talented Head Chef - Jaro. We wanted to thank them for all the hard work that they do in the community and to show them around our home. We are planning to donate to the Tewkesbury Food Bank every month to try and help the cause!
The Big Reveal - Stitch Story
Tewkesbury Fields Care Home were invited to the big unveiling of the Stitch Story at Watson Hall in Tewkesbury. Katie, Deputy General Manager of Tewkesbury Fields Care Home, attended the opening with great delight. She said "This has been a fantastic project that has really brought the community together. We felt so honoured to be involved and add our very own border section. We would like to thank The Stitch Story Team for all their hard work on the project."
Time Capsule Buried at Tewkesbury Fields
Over the past few weeks we have teamed up with Bredon School on a very exciting time capsule project. We have been celebrating the opening of Tewkesbury Fields Care Home and Bredon School are celebrating their 60th anniversary - it seemed like the perfect time to team up to create an everlasting memory.
Students from year 12 and 13 put their heads together and thought of the perfect items to be contained inside. Items included; house badges, Duke of Edinburgh badges and a photo album made by the students.
The students came to Tewkesbury Fields with their Headmaster - Nick Oldman and Head of PSHCE - Kathryn Morris and members of the CCF (Combined Cadet Forces) to bury the capsule.
It was truly a fantastic project and we would like to thank the group of students from Bredon School for getting involved.
