Activities at Tewkesbury Fields Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.
Paula Lourenco
Hello, my name is Paula and I’m the Activities coordinator at Tewkesbury Fields care home. I’ve joined Barchester healthcare in 2020.
As part of the lifestyle enrichment team, I will be organising daily activities, ensuring that residents have varied activities to choose from each day. I love enriching our residents’ lives, creating memories and be able to provide meaningful activities to each one of the residents living at Tewkesbury fields.
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Life at Tewkesbury Fields Care Home
Top Dog
We held a Pet Photography competition to honour National Pet Week. Our manager - James, has such a tough decision choosing the best pet pic. In the end the winner was - Rosie!
Rosie was just as sweet as her picture and our staff loved meeting her. Hopefully she enjoyed her visit to Tewkesbury Fields and will enjoy all of her goodies!
Afternoon Tea with our Barchester Family
Yesterday we welcomed fellow Barchester Healthcare homes into Tewkesbury Fields for a delicious afternoon tea - prepared by our wonderful Head Chef - Jaro!
We had such a lovely afternoon with Badgeworth Court, Ashchurch View and White Lodge. It was great to see residents and staff come together to celebrate the opening of Tewkesbury Fields!
We were so proud to offer everyone a tour of the home to see the beautiful new renovations! Friendships were firmly formed and we can’t wait to do more events together in the future!
Visit to the Watson Hall
Our HSA, Emma, had a wonderful time visiting Becky (Event Manger) at the Watson Hall Tewkesbury last week. The Watson Hall is a beautiful venue that holds many fantastic events. We can’t wait to take our residents along so they can enjoy them!
Tewkesbury Fields and Ashchurch View Add to the Stitch Story
We were so inspired by the Stitch Story project that we teamed up with Ashchurch View Care Home - Barchester Healthcare to create our very own border piece! The staff and residents worked together to stitch the Barchester leaf which will be part of the final tapestry.
We cannot wait to attend the big reveal in May and see all the hard work of the people of Tewkesbury come together.
RSPCA Saves the Day
This Mother duck heard the Tewkesbury Fields is now open and decided that she would like to move in - with her 8 ducklings!
They thoroughly enjoyed living in our courtyard, however we thought it was best to alert the RSPCA (England & Wales). Alan from the RSPCA arrived and he was brilliant! We safely transferred the whole family into the pond at the back of the home - the ducklings found there water feet straight away! Alan said that he loved jobs that involved a happy ending!
A BIG thank you to Alan from the RSPCA, the work you do is fantastic!
Barchester Healthcare's Hospitality Dream Team at Tewkesbury Fields Official VIP opening Event
We would like to say a huge thank you to the outstanding hospitality team for ensuring that our VIP opening event was perfect! The team worked hard to ensure that all of our guests had the best welcome and could sample some of the 5 star food that will be served at Tewkesbury Fields.
A very special thank you goes to our very own Head Chef - Jaro! We would also like to thank Irene, Mervyn, Steve, Jo and Melvyn - the team went above and beyond to ensure the home looked it’s best and that all of our guests had a great time.
Lastly we would like to thank Priscilla for making the most beautiful (and Delicious) cake!
