Activities at The Cedars Bourne Care Home

Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Helen Hudson

Activities Coordinator

Hello. I’m Helen, the Activities Coordinator at The Cedars. I joined the team in 2021 and I have lots of skills that I can use to create an interesting and varied programme of activities, events and celebrations for residents to enjoy. I am a qualified holistic therapist and offer an holistic approach to activities in the home, I love creating new activities that our residents enjoy, taking residents out on day trips and promoting wellbeing through lots of different activities. When I am not at work I love playing my clarinet, crocheting and art - I use all of these in my role.

Enjoying the Euros Final

Alec, Mary and Paddy enjoyed the preparations and build up to watching the big match at The Cedars in Bourne. There was a great atmosphere in our home and, despite the tantalisingly close end result, we were all proud of the England team.

5 stars for our Chef

Richard, Head Chef at The Cedars in Bourne, was over the moon to receive a 5-star Food Hygiene Rating from the Food Standards Agency following an inspection at our home this week. Other members of the team (pictured) were delighted too including Charlie, Virginia (holding the new certificate) and Marilyn. This is the highest rating possible and well deserved by the whole team as it reflects The Cedars’ commitment to excellence in nutrition and hygiene for residents.

A game of darts for the gents

Gents at The Cedars in Bourne enjoy a get together at our regular Gentlemen’s Club, where they play darts and other games together as well as catching up over a beer.

Happy Birthday, Colin

Colin had a great day on his birthday and enjoyed a cake from our chef as well as cards from staff and family. Of course, we sang Happy Birthday, too.

Thank You to our Carers

At The Cedars Bourne in Carers Week we showed our Carers that they are all appreciated. Our fabulous care teams always go above and beyond what is expected of them and we said Thank You with a card and some chocolates for each of them.

Happy Father's Day

Father’s Day was lovely at The Cedars Bourne with lots of family visitors bringing gifts and cards, as well as some treats for Robert and our other gentlemen residents from the Cedars team.
