Activities at The Cedars Bourne Care Home
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Hello. I’m Helen, the Activities Coordinator at The Cedars. I joined the team in 2021 and I have lots of skills that I can use to create an interesting and varied programme of activities, events and celebrations for residents to enjoy. I am a qualified holistic therapist and offer an holistic approach to activities in the home, I love creating new activities that our residents enjoy, taking residents out on day trips and promoting wellbeing through lots of different activities. When I am not at work I love playing my clarinet, crocheting and art - I use all of these in my role.

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at The Cedars Bourne Care Home
Halloween fun and games
Residents at The Cedars in Bourne dressed up for Halloween and enjoyed some fun and spooky games and refreshments.
Crafting with poppies for Remembrance
At Cedars Bourne we did some Remembrance crafting to create a wonderful poppy display in our home.
Dorothy's lockdown blanket
Since the start of Covid Dorothy has put some of her spare time to good use by knitting lots of squares in all colours. Jean, our volunteer, has sewn them together into a wonderful blanket. We all love it and want one too!
Making Halloween decorations
Anne enjoyed doing some colouring with Dawn to create a Halloween-inspired display at Cedars Bourne.
Charles lays a Remembrance wreath
Charles represented Cedars Bourne and Wood Grange Care Homes when he attended the Remembrance Sunday service at the Memorial Gardens with his daughter and residents and staff from Cedars Bourne. He was proud to lay the wreath and spoke to local people and dignitaries after the service.
Happy Birthday Anne!
We were all delighted to share Anne's 90th birthday celebrations at Cedars Bourne. She enjoyed lots of cards, gifts, a strawberry birthday cake and a visit from family.
