Activities at The Cedars Bourne Care Home

Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

I am a qualified holistic therapist and offer an holistic approach to activities in the home, I love creating new activities that our residents enjoy, taking residents out on day trips and promoting wellbeing through lots of different activities. When I am not at work I love playing my clarinet, crocheting and art - I use all of these in my role.

Life at The Cedars Bourne Care Home

Residents Are Getting Active

Residents at the Cedars care home, in Bourne recently enjoyed getting active taking part in penalty shootout football game to get their legs moving and to stay as active as we can during this unfortunate time.

Our residents enjoy being active to take their minds off what is happening in the world, it can be very upsetting and we want to keep them occupied and focused on more fun activities and getting as many involved as we can.

Being active has kept us laughing and smiling bringing happy moral into the home.

Keeping Busy

Dorothy is one of our residents in the Cedars in Bourne, who really enjoys keeping her brain active, she has been doing embroidery designs.

When doing the designs she will use her own imagination to choose the colours and use her own flare of stitching patterns to create it making the design a one of a kind. This is her latest work in progress so far.

Residents Receive Drawings

Our residents have been enjoying all the lovely messages and drawings, received from the local children. All the pictures have been displayed around the home for all to enjoy and to brighten up their days.

Easter Activities

Our residents have been working hard decorating Easter bonnets and now Good Friday is here we will see who won the bonnet competition.

Two of our nurses judged the bonnets whilst the residents wore them and come to the decision Jean won looking so bonnie in her bonnet.

On Easter Sunday all of our resident received an Easter egg. Then for Easter Monday we finished the Easter celebration off with an Easter egg hunt.

Messages from our Residents

Our resident took part writing little messages on a white board and had their photo taken to spread love, safety and awareness during this lockdown.

Mother's Day

As we celebrated Mother’s Day at The Cedars, daffodils were seen everywhere and residents enjoyed FaceTime, Skype and telephone calls from their children. We had a good ol' singalong to lift everyone’s spirits during the day, and there as plenty of chatting about the old times when the children were young. The team and residents shared stories and made it a day to remember!
