Activities at Threshfield Court Care Home

Here at Threshfield Court, we aim to tailor the activities to meet the needs of individual residents, the communities within the home and the home as a whole. We have regular, structured activities such as visits from Music for Health, specialist armchair exercise facilitators, local musicians and a growing team of volunteers, including our local clergy. We also have time for arts and crafts, all sorts of games, music, poetry and lots more. We are pretty good at being spontaneous too!

Life at Threshfield Court Care Home

Book corner with Angela Cobbin

We had a lovely time joining Angela Cobbin for a theatre-inspired virtual talk about her book ‘My Name is Not Wigs’.  ‘My Name Is Not Wigs’ is the ultimate read for fans of witty behind-the-curtains memoirs, especially those with a penchant for the bright lights of stage and screen: tears and accolades aplenty!

St Patrick's Day

Today we celebrated St Patrick’s Day in recognition of the patron saint and national apostle of Ireland.   The home was decorated with shamrocks and we all enjoyed exploring the Irish culture through a variety of themed activities.

World Poetry Day

Here at Threshfield Court our residents were keen to get involved in World Poetry Day.

Throughout the day, we had interesting discussions about poets and we hosted a Poetry Club where our residents listen to famous people reading poems and read aloud passages from their own favourite poems.

World Poetry Day is a fantastic excuse for us all to spend the day with our noses in our much-loved poetry books.

It was a great day for everyone, especially for the keen poets at the home.

Easter preparations underway

Threshfield Court residents like chocolate and we are busy planning our Easter Celebrations! How do you celebrate? We would like to thank Spar, Threshfield for a few extra Easter Eggs to give to our colleagues.

Birthday celebrations

Top on our agenda is birthdays and March is a busy month for birthday celebrations here at Threshfield Court.  Resident, Jack celebrated his birthday with the assistance of the ‘Jolley trolley’ and a rousing chorus of birthday wishes from his friends here at the home.  The birthday boy enjoyed his delicious home-made cake especially prepared by the homes hospitality team.

Nutrition and Hydration Week

It was a fruity day at Threshfield Court Care Centre today.  It is” Nutrition and Hydration Week” which is one of our favourites.  Our residents enjoyed creating their own fruit smoothies experimenting with different textures and flavours.  We also made banana flavoured milk shakes which were really tasty. We had a discussion about the importance of a nutritionally balanced diet and also about our favourite food
