Activities at Threshfield Court Care Home
Here at Threshfield Court, we aim to tailor the activities to meet the needs of individual residents, the communities within the home and the home as a whole. We have regular, structured activities such as visits from Music for Health, specialist armchair exercise facilitators, local musicians and a growing team of volunteers, including our local clergy. We also have time for arts and crafts, all sorts of games, music, poetry and lots more. We are pretty good at being spontaneous too!

Life at Threshfield Court Care Home
Birthday celebrations
At Threshfield Court Care Centre we had the pleasure of helping one of our residents celebrate her “90th” birthday. The Chef had made an amazing cake and we all sang Happy Birthday using our Jolly Trolley. Our lovely lady blew out her candles and we all shared the cake with a lovely cup of tea whilst the cards and presents were opened. At Threshfield Court Care Centre, birthdays are always special and always celebrated”.
A trip to Grimworth Reservoir
On a beautiful sunny morning we took our ladies from the Coniston community to Grimwith Reservoir . We sat and enjoyed tea, coffee and biscuits whilst admiring the lovely view. On our way home we travelled through Bolton Abbey and Burnsall.
The Astor's at Cliveden
Our residents came together to enjoy an exciting virtual talk courtesy of the team at National Trust Talks Service. The illustrated talk took us closer to one of Cliveden’s most famous families, the Astors. Our residents were able to discover what motivated William Waldorf Astor, America’s richest man, to purchase Cliveden in 1893 and how the estate became the centre of high society in the 1920 s and 30 s thanks to his son Waldorf and daughter in law Nancy Astor.
The Astors time at Cliveden came to an end in the 1960 s after the estate became infamously associated with Profumo Affair, but the house and garden continue to reflect their innovations and passions. We all had a brilliant time.
Walk through a landscape
We had a lovely time joining Holly and Marie-Therese from the Wallace Collection, for a virtual introduction to the Collection, followed by a sensory exploratory walk through one of the museum’s most famous landscape paintings. The Collection ranges from Old Master paintings to 18th century French furniture, arms and armour. We all had a wonderful time and cannot wait to put our creative skills to a test and paint some landscapes in the upcoming days.
Mother's Day
Residents at Barchester Healthcare’s Threshfield Court Care Centre, in Threshfield, celebrated Mother’s Day with Individual vases of flowers for the ladies and a special 3 course meal prepared by our hospitality team. Staff at Threshfield Court Care Centre arranged flowers for every resident, music and a special 3 course meal at lunch time. Chef at the home, Karl Phillips prepared a special menu of Roast beef and Yorkshire Puddings followed by one of their favourite puddings, sticky toffee pudding! To mark the day.
Spring sunshine
What a beautiful day for a minibus trip to Redcar Tarn, just above Keighley. Our volunteer mini bus driver David, took us to look at the bird life and feed the ducks. We all had a cup of tea and a biscuit whilst watching the lovely bird life and people enjoying the lovely weather and walking around the Tarn”.
