Activities at Tixover House Care Home
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.
Caroline Geddes
Hello, my name is Caroline and I joined the team at Tixover House in 2023.
I am passionate about creating person-centred activities which ultimately enrich our residents' lives. My main aim is to bring happiness through the doorway daily; spreading smiles, laughter and love - I want to make a difference to the lives of those that we support.
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Life at Tixover House Care Home
Musical Magic
Singers Lesley Ann Parker and Katie Rose Parker entertained the staff and residents with songs that brought back memories for everyone.
Wear a Hat with Flowers Day
We have collected £46 for the Brain Tumour Research charity from our staff raffle on Wear A Hat With Flowers Day. Many of our carers have seen the devastating effects of this terrible condition in family friends and residents.
Tixover Sweet Shop
Today we opened the new Tixover sweet shop. The residents chose their favourite sweets to have in the shop.
Wake & Shake
Everyone enjoys our morning Wake & Shake sessions, especially when the staff join in.
Tixover's Celebration
We celebrated the 100th birthday of our wonderful resident, Beryl, on the 19th June. Beryl has been a prolific artist her whole life and many of her paintings adorn the walls at Tixover. We had a party in the afternoon with Dave and Rob (Banjo Man), cakes galore, dancing and singing, with a bit of comedy thrown in.
Gardening Club
Our weekly gardening club, overseen by our resident Horticultural Therapist, has sown micro-greens.
We planted pink kale, broccoli, cress, mustard, rambo radish and snow peas. In 7 to 10 days, we can cut and wash the micro-greens and make a delicious salad. Micro-greens are highly nutritious, but small, so are useful if a resident has a reduced appetite.
