Activities at Tixover House Care Home
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.
Nicola Blevins-Twose
Hello, my name is Nicola (Nic) and I'm the Activities Coordinator here at Tixover House.
My role is to enrich the lives of our residents by providing stimulating and person-centred activities, entertainers and outings. At Tixover House we offer something for everyone, including crafts, games, virtual visits to places of interest around the world, outings in the local area and parties. We also provide one-to-one time and sensory activities with residents who need more support. Getting to know our residents better is so important, and through regular family and friends meeting we can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining Tixover House.
I look forward to getting to know you, and your loved ones. 'Living life to the full' is my motto, and whatever your ability there is always something new to learn or try.

Life at Tixover House Care Home
Enjoying the Sunshine!
Ice cream and dancing to some lively tunes was the order of the day. On this beautiful, sunny day, there were smiles all round, as we had a fantastic afternoon with Marie the Activities Coordinator and Karina, our Hostess, on the patio.
Green-Fingered Residents
Margret put her green fingers to work getting the patio up and looking beautiful for all to enjoy.
Holy Communion
We host a holy communion in the TV room on the first Monday of each month. Feel free to join us!
Seated Stretches
Residents enjoyed seated stretches with our very own Hostess, Karina. There was lively music and a wake up stretch, which got everyone off to a good start.
Spring Gardening
A green-fingered resident has been busy planting spring flowers and bulbs on the patio with the help of our Maintenance Manager – and the results speak for themselves.
Musical Entertainment
The wonderful Gavin joined us for a day of classical, rock, and all our much-loved show tunes, which we all got up and danced to. Gavin always is a hit with everyone, especially the ladies.
