Activities at Tixover House Care Home
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.
Caroline Geddes
Hello, my name is Caroline and I joined the team at Tixover House in 2023.
I am passionate about creating person-centred activities which ultimately enrich our residents' lives. My main aim is to bring happiness through the doorway daily; spreading smiles, laughter and love - I want to make a difference to the lives of those that we support.

Life at Tixover House Care Home
Craft Day with Oundle School
The students from Oundle School joined us for a fantastic afternoon of crafts. It was festive themed and everybody had the opportunity to make Christmas Wreaths. The students proudly took these home to their families to enjoy. The residents love to spend time with the students and a fun afternoon was had by all.
Afternoon Tea
The ladies at Tixover House found an occasion to get out their lovely hats while enjoying a tasty afternoon tea. Fun and laughter was had by all and everybody agreed that it would be a regular event at the home!
Halloween!
A great time was had by all at our Halloween party. Residents and staff all dressed up in keeping with the event and the home was decorated to represent the spooky time of year!! The Children from Oundle School visited to enjoy a variety of games with the residents as well as some tasty Halloween snacks!!
Trip to Oakham Castle
Our residents enjoyed their trip out to Oakham Castle. They went to see the ceramic poppies that they had previously made during an activity day alongside Age UK. The residents love to take part in trips out in the mini bus and we make sure that everybody gets a chance to go somewhere fun at least twice per week.
Food Bank Donation
Residents, loved ones, friends and staff members at Tixover House care home celebrated the Harvest Festival by donating a food hamper to a local food bank.
The occasion was also marked with a visit from the local vicars, singing of hymns and light refreshments which really helped everyone at the home get into the spirit of the festival. Food donations brought in by visitors were gifted to Stamford Food Bank which were very well-received.
Harvest Festival
We were joined by a vicar during our Harvest Festival, who blessed food that was donated, which will soon be donated to our local food bank.
