Activities at Tixover House Care Home
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.
Caroline Geddes
Hello, my name is Caroline and I joined the team at Tixover House in 2023.
I am passionate about creating person-centred activities which ultimately enrich our residents' lives. My main aim is to bring happiness through the doorway daily; spreading smiles, laughter and love - I want to make a difference to the lives of those that we support.

Life at Tixover House Care Home
A Trip to Rutland Water Nature Reserve
We had a wonderful time heading out in the minibus recently to visit Rutland Water Nature Reserve. Everyone had a great day taking in all the sites, and the amazing weather made the trip even more worthwhile. We couldn't help getting ourselves an ice cream to cool us all down!
Armed Forces Day at Tixover
We had a great day celebrating Armed Forces Day here at the home as we were joined by some local people in the armed forces. Residents had a great day with lots of reminiscing about the past.
Summer Gardening
Some of our residents really enjoy gardening, so when our maintenance team started tidying up the garden at the front of the home and the courtyard, they were very keen to offer a helping hand! It was a beautiful day in the garden with lots of cold refreshments.
Flower Arranging
We recently spent the morning flower arranging with residents. The flowers brought a lovely summer smell to the home and the arrangements have also been placed around the home making it look beautiful! Well done ladies!
Celebrating Staff
We honoured our hardworking Nurses and Carers, who work tirelessly to support residents at Tixover House. A big thank you to all our staff for all their hard work and for always going above and beyond with a smile.
Firefighter Fete
We joined firefighters at Oakham Fire station, who invited us to join them for their small fête, which they held to raise awareness for dementia. Everyone had a good afternoon and enjoyed the snacks and tea on offer.
