Activities at Trinity Manor Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Bibesh Shrestha

Activities Coordinator

Hi, My name is Bibesh Shrestha, Activity Coordinator

Having more than 10 years of professional experience in multiple sectors at different places have given me the confidence to get involved in any challenging environment where my skills and experience will be instrumental in achieving personal and social goals.

Being a motivator and influencer to the people around me has always been my passion, and also part of my profession. As an Activity Coordinator, my ultimate goal is to transfer my energy and spread my happiness.

Being active and full of energy with humbleness is what defines me and transferring that energy to the people around me has been my prime interest.

Sherborne Litter Pick

We love to get involved with our local community, this week we have braved the change in weather and joined with ‘Sherborne Stop the Litter’ by lending a hand or two.

This group arranges monthly litter picking activities in the Sherborne area and is run by volunteers. We strive to be part of our local community here at Trinity Manor; we are very proud of our town.

Piano Man Extraordinaire!

Who needs Liberace when you can have a visit from the very talented and charming, Alan Poulton.

Recent we welcomed back the lovely Alan to come and entertain us where he wowed our residents with his wonderful piano skills.

Alan is a resident favourite and we look forward to welcoming him back soon, until next time Alan!

The Great South Run

Our very own Head Housekeeper, Stephanie Haycock is running to raise funds and awareness for The Alzheimer’s Society in the Great South Run on 20th October! Steph has both a professional and personal link the effects that Alzheimer’s has on individuals, loved ones and their families.

The AJ Bell Great South Run is probably the world’s favourite 10 mile running event with inspiring history, salty air and glorious sea views guaranteed. Portsmouth’s supporters will keep your spirits and motivation up the whole way round, with blaring music, cheers, high fives, fist bumps all part of the incredible Great South Run experience.

Trinity Manor Appoints Resident Gardening Assistant

Our gardens are often a hive of activity, all of our residents enjoy getting involved with helping us maintain and give ideas to how we can improve. Leading the residents response has always been our Shelia.

Working alongside Sohail, Paul, Phil and the Garden team, Shelia lends a hand and her expert advice. To recognise Shelia’s input we have given her an honorary title of Gardening Assistant and Paul presented her with her badge of which she was thrilled.

A stroll in the Gardens

It was a beautiful day when Bibesh and Kath were able to take a small group to the fantastic Minterne Gardens in Minterne Magna.

Minterne House is the home of the Churchill and Digby families and has been since 1620. Home to the first Sir Winston Churchill, the present House was built in 1905 and still contains the original Churchill tapestries and furniture.

A younger son from Sherborne Castle, Admiral Robert Digby bought the house and valley on a ‘walk-in, walk-out’ basis ensuring everything in the house was retained. Steeped in Naval history, Henry Digby was Captain of the ‘Africa’ during the battle of Trafalgar. Many letters, paintings and prizes from that time are still at Minterne.

Andy and his Accordion

We had the wonderful Andy playing his accordion recently in our beautiful home and what a fantastic afternoon we had.

Andy took us on a journey around the world playing songs from each country. Residents and staff were all singing, clapping along and dancing to the songs.

We always enjoy Andy's performances here at Trinity Manor and look forward to him coming again soon.
