Activities at West Oak Care Home

Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Day Out At Bracknell

One of our residents, Pete, had a day out at Bracknell. It was a fun day out for Pete, when he went out shopping and had a great meal at Nando,s with staff members, Stacy and Dawn. They carried the shopping bags and helped him out. Pete had an amazing time.

We are now rated 'Outstanding'!

We are now rated 'Outstanding'!

Staff and residents have been celebrating after our most recent CQC inspection rated us as 'Outstanding' overall after we were reviewed for a safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led service.

Currently only 3.1% of England’s care homes, domiciliary care agencies and hospitals have an overall ‘Outstanding’ rating, and West Oak has been ranked among the best in the country for the quality of the services we provide.

The CQC inspected the home unannounced on 30th and 31st October (the report was released on 7th December) and rated us as ‘Outstanding' in two key assessment areas (‘Responsive’ & ‘Well-Led’) and ‘Good’ in three (‘Safe’, ‘Effective’ & ‘Caring’).

In celebration of the rating, CEO Dr Pete Calveley visited us to thank each member of the team personally.

Well done to everyone who has made this possible!
