Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.
Dawn Davies & Helen Fagan
Dawn and Helen are at the centre of all the activities here at West Oak. They provide an interesting and varied activities schedule and ensure that there is something for everyone. They are passionate about the importance of activities and will go that extra mile just for a smile or a raised eyebrow, whether it's one-to-one time or a group session, inside or out, fun is had by all.

Life at West Oak Care Home
Employee of the Month - June
Congratulations to Matilde, West Oak's Employee of the Month for June. General Manager, Geoff Honour, said that Matilde deserves this award; she always has a smile on her face and time for residents. Well done, Matilde!
Trip to the Seaside
A great day was had by all when West Oak residents travelled to Southsea, where the sun shined and fish and chips and ice creams were enjoyed. New friends were made and new experiences shared.
Jean's Long Service Award
Jean Prater received her 10 Year Long Service Award from General Manager, Geoff Honour, who commented that Jean "does a fantastic job and always goes the extra mile to ensure that residents are well cared for, and is always the first person to offer help to her team mates." Well done, Jean!
Care Home Open Day
West Oak opened its doors on a lovely June day for Care Home Open Day. It was a great turnout; we witnessed fantastic opera performances from Lazio and Christina, whilst tucking into Cornish cream teas.
Our Divisional Winner
Congratulations to staff member, Doina Hirta, who has been named as a divisional winner in the 'Registered Nurse of the Year' category for the 2017 Barchester Care Awards.
Breakfast Club
On the 26th May West Oak opened its doors to all the multi-disciplinary teams for the Breakfast Club; there were bacon rolls, pastries and piping hot coffee available to everyone who came along.
