Activities at Wilton Place Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

The Healthy Option
Look at what we found in our veg patch!
Home grown and delicious,! Chef is going to enjoy using all of these lovely fresh carrots and tomatoes.......what shall we grow next in our 'veg truc' as it is so important to have fresh vegetables on the menu every day and always the healthy option!
Anyone who has some seeds we could use we would be delighted to receive them for planting. Just pop in or call 01722 656740 and we would happily come and collect.

Cathedral Visit
We took a trip in our minibus to Salisbury Cathedral. The ladies enjoyed a stroll around the grounds, then stopped for a drink before taking a look around inside the cathedral itself. Angela commented "I have not been here for 27 years, it's so lovely to visit again!" The residents are very much enjoying the trips out in the minibus and excitedly discussing where we can go next.

The King's Coronation
Wilton Place wishes HRH King Charles III a magnificent Coronation, after 59 glorious years as our Prince of Wales we were excited to see him crowned as our King this morning.
A truly incredible man who has devoted his life to the people of The United Kingdom, whom we are proud to honour and celebrate with our community.

ENJOYING A LIVE INTERNATIONAL CHOIR PERFORMANCE
Recently we hosted the talented Hawthorne Christian Academy Choir from New Jersey, USA. Our home was filled with wonderful voices and harmonies evoking happy memories of times gone by along with uplifting contemporary songs.
Our hospitality team provided a spread of cakes and cookies for the choir to enjoy after the show. Residents enjoyed coffee and cake throughout the performance, with a side helping of tissues!

Sowing the Seeds of Success
We were excited to receive our seeds today in the post, and wasted no time in getting out in the garden with our residents to start sowing. Dodging the showers of course!
We are sowing and growing to share cut flowers with our community.
We hope our efforts will provide us with flowers to brighten our residents' rooms and give us enough blooms for us to thank our volunteers for the time and skills they kindly share with us.

Armchair Travel
We have been enjoying travelling to different countries around the globe… from the comfort of our chairs! Once a fortnight we take a virtual tour to some of our favourite destinations, helping bring back those wonderful holiday memories and allow residents to share their lovely travel tales with everyone!
This week, as requested, we set off for Sydney to learn about its history and also see some stunning views from some of Australia’s finest beaches!
