Activities at Wood Grange Care Home
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Life at Wood Grange Care Home
Cooling Down
To cool down in the heat, we set up the paddling pool and sun umbrellas so the residents could enjoy an ice cream while dipping their feet in the cool water.
Cream Tea Afternoon
To enjoy Cream Tea Friday, we set up tables in the dining room with our lovely tea sets, which were donated by the public. We had the old record player playing the good ol' classics and enjoyed a lovely chat over tea and cakes and scones.

Old Friends
Who would believe that 70 years down the line you would meet up with your old school tennis partner? Well, that’s just what happened here at Wood Grange.
Resident, Mary, has been a resident at Wood Grange for several months, and Margaret recently joined us for some respite care.
Both ladies were very active through their lives and loved their sport right into their later years.
When Margaret arrived, Mary was sitting in the reception seating area and the ladies instantly recognised each other as old school friends and tennis partners from their days at Bourne Grammar School, around 70 years ago.
Margaret told us that her and Mary were partners at tennis through their years at Bourne Grammar school and that her family had a large tennis court in their garden and Mary would join her there to practice.
One thing both ladies can definitely remember is that, whenever they played against Stamford High School, Bourne Grammar would always win, and these games soon became a local derby between the schools.
During Margaret’s stay here at Wood Grange, the ladies have spent many times sitting chatting and we would like to think re-living those happy childhood memories.
