Activities at Wood Grange Care Home
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.
Ruby-Mae Walker
Hello, my name is Ruby-Mae and I am the activities Co-Ordinator here at Wood Grange.
My background is working in dance education and production as well as experience in the mental health care sector. I am extremely passionate about my role here in promoting life enrichment within the home and I feel privileged to work alongside such amazing people, and to be a part of our residents lives, spending quality time with them on a regular basis. I work alongside Louise to plan and organise daily activities to suit our resident’s needs, Louise and I are very enthusiastic about our roles and the resident’s well-being is always at the forefront of our minds.
I love to dance, keep fit by going to the gym and spending time with family.

Life at Wood Grange Care Home

Residents, Leontia, Cath, Malcolm showed no fear at all when Zoolab brought some reptiles in.
Christmas at Wood Grange
Residents and staff members have been having fun getting into the Christmas spirit here at Wood Grange. We've been making Christmas cakes and have even hosted a very special festive raffle.
Birthday Celebrations
You’re never too old to celebrate your birthday with a handsome young man, as Margaret can tell you. For the fifth year running, at her very own request, Jeremy serenaded her with songs that were enjoyed by all. This certainly was Margaret’s special day.
Remembrance Service
Residents, families and staff were invited to join us for our remembrance service on Saturday 10th November. The service was held in our purpose-built remembrance garden, which was designed by our own gardener, Martin. It was a very emotional time for some, but thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. Following the service, everyone warmed up with hot beverages and freshly made nibbles.
Halloween Preparations
Residents and loved ones had fun making their own Halloween table decorations with some professionals.
Zoolab
We enjoyed a visit from Zoolab recently and residents were very brave to hold all of the magnificent creatures that were brought in.
