Activities at Wood Grange Care Home
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.
Ruby-Mae Walker
Hello, my name is Ruby-Mae and I am the activities Co-Ordinator here at Wood Grange.
My background is working in dance education and production as well as experience in the mental health care sector. I am extremely passionate about my role here in promoting life enrichment within the home and I feel privileged to work alongside such amazing people, and to be a part of our residents lives, spending quality time with them on a regular basis. I work alongside Louise to plan and organise daily activities to suit our resident’s needs, Louise and I are very enthusiastic about our roles and the resident’s well-being is always at the forefront of our minds.
I love to dance, keep fit by going to the gym and spending time with family.

Life at Wood Grange Care Home
Busy Bees Returns
The Busy Bees nursery visits us twice a month and delight us with their singing, and also love participating in games and puzzle with residents. The visits are finished off with a story read by the nursery leader, which is thoroughly enjoyed by all.
Steve the Singer
Residents Sheila & Leontia can be seen enjoying the company of Steve the singer, who entertained us for the afternoon.
Scrabble Challenge
Twice a month we hold our Scrabble challenge. Residents partnered with families and staff staff are invited and show off their skills and win the cup for their communitues. The cup stands proudly on the Willoughby community after our most recent challenge.
Musical Magic
Cath can been seen having a music lesson with Sean the Banjo Man when he delighted us with a morning of toe-tapping fun.
Back to the Garden Centre
Fred was delighted to have a ride out to the local garden centre along with his wife, Ethel. Ethel said that she couldn't remember the last time she went out together, so a lovely day was had by all.
Flower Power
Resident, Fred, proves that flower arranging is not just for the ladies by creating this beautiful display.
