Activities at Archview Lodge Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.
Diane Wood
Hi, my name is Diane and I am Head of Activities here at Archview. I have worked in the homes since 2009.
I strongly believe in creating moments for our residents and embracing their individuality with tailor made activities, whilst remaining person centred and respecting resident’s preferences. Every day I like to ensure the residents on memory lane can enjoy themselves and have a good time whilst forming bonds with each other and the staff around them.
Outside of work, I have a 23 years old son and a wee dog called Hugo and my ambition is to make people smile and be happy.

Life at Archview Lodge Care Home
Double celebrations at Archview!
Celebrations have been in full swing at Archview Lodge, as one of its residents reaches her 99-years young in style. Betty, a resident celebrated her 99 years-young birthdays with her family and friends by her side. It was also another opportunity to celebrate Betty who is the longest resident here in Archview. Betty has been living in the home for 9-years.
The home held a birthday party for Batty and there was a huge birthday cake in honour of her 99th birthday especially prepared by the homes hospitality team and was presented to the birthday girl with a rousing rendition of ‘Happy Birthday’.
Celebrating Cadbury's
Residents across our services had a wonderful time joining Cadbury for an interactive virtual talk on their fascinating 200-year history.
Residents joining learnt interesting facts about the chocolate giant, shared memories, and reminisced about their favourite sweet treats.
It was a heartwarming experience filled with laughter, nostalgia, and plenty of chocolatey goodness!
Jean's road trip!
Another one of our residents WISH completed. Resident, Jean wanted to go over the Forth Road Bridge so off we went with Jean’s husband John, David & Jean. Everyone had a fantastic time even in the wet dreary day. We sang we’re all going on a summer holiday since we were going over the bridge before we drove down to Rosyth Dock’s to see the boats. We then headed to North Queens ferry to enjoy our picnic on the bus especially prepared by the homes hospitality team where we enjoyed the lovely views of the rail bridge the old bridge and the new bridge. We could feel the vibration when the trains went over the bridge.
Who ate the last rollo?
Another great afternoon here at Archview. We’d like to say a very big thank you to one of our colleagues, Mary who shared her creativity in writing the play ‘who ate the last rollo?’ Colleagues dedicated their time for rehearsals and coming together as a family and whole home to perform this special play to our residents and families – it was so much fun and everyone who came along had a fabulous time.
Resident realises dream
We were delighted to help Resident, Tam’s wish has come true. When we discovered he was a huge rangers fan, and had been since he was a young boy, we took this knowledge and reached out Rangers Football Club to see if they could support and make his dream come true! Tam was over the moon to receive a signed photograph and letter and we’d like to say a special thank you to them.
Come sing!
Residents across our homes and hospitals had a fantastic time with vocal coach Dan Cooper from Biiah as he led an amazing sing-a-long session for residents to enjoy.
Residents who joined the event were able to learn different techniques as they sang the famous ‘I Can See Clearly Now’ by Jimmy Cliff and ‘Here Comes the Sun’ by The Beatles.
Across our homes there were smiles and laugher all around. The session was such a success and was great for the mind, body and soul.
