Activities at Ashchurch View Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Life at Ashchurch View Care Home
Jubilee Celebrations
The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations were in full swing at Ashcurch view. Residents, families and staff have come together to celebrate in style! There were 4 full days of celebrations in the home! Everyone truly enjoyed the garden party by having live music from Anna Tharia, cakes and refreshments. A wonderful time with everyone getting together to celebrate the Queen Elizabeth reign of 70 years.
Strawberry picking and picnic
Residents and staff visited Primrose Vale Farm to pick their own strawberries and enjoy a picnic for lunch. Residents also enjoyed seeing many children playing in the park, the beautiful hanging baskets and pots with the colourful and bright flowers in, and mainly the fresh air.
International Nurses Day
Nurses are essential and valuable members of our home! Our home manager presented our nurses with gifts and thank you cards for their very hard work and appreciation.
Dementia Action Week
As part of dementia action week, we held a fundraising day for Dementia UK in our café at Ashchurch view care home. It was so lovely to see many families and residents joining in “Time for a cuppa” and cake of course. Dementia is a subject very close to our hearts and one that affects so many; not just the individual living with this condition, but also their loved ones.
World Donkey Day
We celebrated World Donkey day in style, we received the special visit from Charlie from Kelly’s Donkeys. Residents commented “I’ve never imagined that I would see a donkey indoors!” “He is such a good and well trained donkey” “he is so gentle”
International Dance Day
To celebrate International dance day, we decided to have a 50’s rock n’ roll themed time. Staff and residents grabbed the microphones, the fancy dress items and put on a show of the 50’s the Rock n’ Roll hits; wee, we couldn’t stop dancing for the following hour. We were definitely rocking around the clock. What a great morning with so much fun.
