Activities at Beaufort Grange Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.
Lucy Lock
Hello, I am Lucy and I have worked at Beaufort Grange since 2015, starting as a care assistant I have progressed to senior care assistant and now into my role as an Activities Assistant. It's always a pleasure to keep the residents updated with community activities. What I enjoy about my job is making everyone laugh and keeping residents and staff entertained. You will often hear me singing as I walk down the corridor!

Life at Beaufort Grange Care Home
Dementia Friends
We welcomed Winsome Barrett-Muir to the home from the Dementia Action Alliance. She gave us a presentation about how we can make a difference in our own way to the lives of those in the home and community living with and caring for those with Dementia. Thank you, Winsome!
Children in Need
Staff and residents came together to raise money for Children in Need by paying to guess the weight of this fantastic cake, which was made by Barchester’s very own Amanda Hughes. Way to go, Amanda! We raised nearly £50 for this great cause.
Christmas Choir
We were recently joined by the outstanding Bishops Road Choir, who sang our favourite Christmas songs for us. We were expecting about ten people and were blown away when nearly thirty of them arrived in a minibus!
October Open Day
We hosted another open day on 20th October, welcoming the public into our home so that they could see for themselves what life at Beaufort is like. As they entered the bistro, they got to see our very own arena, which we set up for our sports day event. We held events such as the bean bag shot-put, the paper plane javelin, the egg and spoon race, balloon tennis and much more.
Ivor was declared the winner, with a total of 3 medals throughout the day; Wendy came in as the runner-up and in a close third place was Mary.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for the event and well done to everyone who won a medal at our sports day.
Dancing Lessons
We had regular entertainer, Carol Golding, in recently and made the most of it by getting our groove on. Residents enjoyed dancing with Activities Coordinator, Callam, and even had to teach him a thing or two.
Samantha's Birthday
Here we have long term residents and Beaufort celebrity, Samantha Reid, celebrating her birthday with some cheesecake. We all got a slice and it was magical!
