Activities at Braeburn Lodge Care Home
Our dedicated activities team are constantly dreaming up new and wonderful ways to support and stimulate the residents we look after. From trips to crafts, parties to skittles, musical performances and quizzes, we include something for everyone and pride ourselves on including everyone into the fun. We have a brilliant team of volunteers who help us to deliver more trips, support us at events and pop in for a cup of tea and chat. We have pet therapy at least once per week (sometimes twice!) and we take advantage of every school break by holding large scale events that we can invite families with children to. We have been developing ties with our neighbours since we first opened and thanks to this, we have successfully brought together our residents with local churches, choirs, Brownies groups, and schools. Whatever your interests are, here at Braeburn, there's something for everyone.
Yasmine Dawson
I have worked at Braeburn Lodge since 2015. I started working as a carer and the activities side of the role really appealed to me. We organise a variety of activities to suit everybody’s preferences and abilities. I enjoy working at Braeburn and making a difference to the residents’ lives.

Life at Braeburn Lodge Care Home
Musical Magic
Residents enjoyed a morning singing some old favourites.
Spa Day
Residents enjoyed some pampering and relaxation in our 'pop up spa'. They were offered a variety of treatments, including natural face masks, cooling eye gel pads, manicures and hand massages that were accompanied by relaxing music and images and a lavender scented diffuser.
Valentine's Cards with Local Nursery
We love it when children come to visit us! What a fabulous morning we had when the children from a local nursery came to join us for some Valentine’s Day craft! The residents and children worked together to create some beautiful cards.
In the midst of the bustling atmosphere, with glitter being sprinkled and glue covered fingers... the joyful gaze and warm smiles from everyone was enough to fill anyone's heart with happiness.
Afternoon Tea at Local School
We were over the moon to be invited to one of our local primary schools for an afternoon tea. The children were such amazing hosts, putting on a beautiful array of sandwiches, cakes, homemade shortbread and refreshments.
The children went on to keep our residents entertained with a selection of word searches, puzzles and chats. A wonderful afternoon, enjoyed by all.
Fish & Chips Lunch
Our residents had a lovely time at the Riverside restaurant having a fish and chips lunch, chatting about their favourite memories and enjoying the social atmosphere. Great fun was held by all.
New Year's Eve
The residents celebrated New Year's Eve by singing and dancing along to music performed by Nicky. We had hats, games and plenty of buffet food. Happy New Year!

Coffee Morning - 1st Tuesday of the month
We extend a warm invitation for you to join us at our monthly coffee morning, come along and make new friends - all welcome from 10.00 am on the first Tuesday of the month.
Don't dine alone - every Friday
Join us every Friday from 12.30 until14.30 as we welcome the seniors in our communiuty to take advantage of our hospitality and join us for a nutritious lunch at Braeburn Lodge.
Emergency Services - Take a break on us!
Calling all emergency services personnel, come and take a break with us - we offer a warm welcome and a hot drink, there may be a cake to two available!
