Activities at Cepen Lodge Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Tour at Chippenham Firestation!

Some of our staff and residents recently went to visit Chippenham Fire Station for a tour of the station and engines.

We had a go at spraying the hoses, trying on hats and Dave even climbed in the fire engine.

We learnt lots about how to become a firefighter and what the job involves, and reminisced on what fire engines used to come equipped with years ago.

Huge thank you to Jack and his team at Group 2 for being so accommodating, and for such a fun afternoon!

We are looking forward to coming back again with some more residents.

Chippenham Fire Services Visit

We had some special visitors recently at Cepen Lodge

We were excited to welcome Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service and the crew members from Chippenham Fire Station to our home of course it was complete with their truck in tow.

We had a very informative chat from watch manager Jack who talked about all the ways we can make sure we stay safe.

We even got invited to take a tour of the fire station in the near future.

Malmesbury Garden Centre Visit

At Cepen Lodge we are surrounded by beautiful garden centres and coffee shops.

So we decided to hop into the mini bus, and take a trip to the lovely Malmesbury Garden Centre. It was such a treat to walk around and look at all the different plants and flowers in full summer bloom.

Of course we couldn't visit without a pit stop at the Cafe. Coffee and cake is always a must on our trips out.

Regular outings are a key part of enriching the lives of our residents at Cepen Lodge.

Giving back to our community

The team at Cepen Lodge saw pleas for food donations in our local food banks, whose shelves were bare.

They needed support more than ever for families during the summer holidays. So Cepen Lodge have been collecting food for our local food bank Cafe Spero , who kindly came to collect our donations.

Our hamper  in reception was filled to the brim with thanks to our local community. Our hamper is still in reception if anyone would like to donate to the local food bank and we will arrange to deliver these, anything you can spare is much appreciated to support our local community

John Coles Park Visit

We made the most of the glorious weather recently and hopped into the mini bus to visit one of local parks.

We are very lucky to live near the beautiful John Coles Park.

As the weather was so nice we decided to stop for a delicious ice cream.

it was lovely sitting on the benches watching the world go by, or more accurately lots of doggies.

Our residents are already making plans to pop down to see the brass bands playing in the bandstand.
