Activities at Cheverton Lodge Care Home

Our Activities Coordinators are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians, as well as art therapy, flower arranging, Exercise to music and quizzes. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as they can, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.

Cara Nutt

Activities Coordinator Lead

I joined Cheverton Lodge in 2024 as an Activity Coordinator. I completed a Health and social care level 2 and performing arts at college. I have worked as an activity coordinator in a care home setting for over 5 years. I love my role, the passion and drive it gives me to ensure everyone receives a fun and fulfilled lifestyle, which is person centred to them.

I love being creative, I sing in my spare time alongside playing the electric guitar, piano and also writing my own music. I look forward to my journey here at Cheverton lodge, and bringing lots of fun!

Happy Birthday!

Today was a very special day at Cheverton Lodge. Joan celebrated her 102nd birthday in style! Joan's nephew and his wife took her for a lovely walk to the park. At their return, residents received her with flowers and birthday cards and a fantastic party in the garden to celebrate in the sunshine, which Joan loved! Head chef Laeeq baked a delicious chocolate cake for the occasion. Happy birthday Joan!

International Nurses Day

With the worst of the pandemic hopefully behind us, it remains important that we acknowledge the vital role that nurses and healthcare staff play, not just at times of acute need, but supporting us in our everyday lives. At Cheverton Lodge we know that our residents respect and treasure the staff we have and we cannot speak highly enough of their importance and the contribution they make here. A nursing home is not just about bricks and mortar, nor the people who live here - it is about the constituent parts that go to make up our little community. Our staff are a key element in this, not merely employees, but invaluable members of our ‘family’ who help to make Cheverton Lodge community the special entity that it is. Thank you!

Scrabble Club!

Scrabble Club!

At Cheverton Lodge our weekly scrabble sessions are very popular among the residents. We are practicing hard to get ready for next week's scrabble competition.

Spending time in the Garden.

Spending time in the Garden.

Residents at Cheverton Lodge took advantage of the beautiful spring weather and spent time in our beautiful garden. Playing scrabble, having a chat, listening to music and singing along. All with a refreshing glass of Pimm's. Cheers!

Mothers day Celebrations

Mother's Day Celebrations at Cheverton Lodge.

Residents and team members at Cheverton Lodge enjoyed a wonderful party held in celebration of Mother’s Day. Head Chef, Laeeq , baked a selection of homemade cupcakes and treats which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. Accompanied by a glass of sherry or spirit of choice - Ida choose an Amaretto! Residents were spoilt with gifts of flowers, chocolates and cards from their loved ones, and enjoyed an afternoon of good company and entertainment.

A trip to Alexandra Palace Park.

Residents at Cheverton Lodge were accompanied by their loved ones on a lovely trip to Alexandra Palace Park. We walked by the lake, looked at the local wild life and went to see the famous BBC broadcasting antenna. We finished the day out with a lovely cappuccino and delicious croissants. A chilly but fantastic day!
