Activities at Cheverton Lodge Care Home

Our Activities Coordinators are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians, as well as art therapy, flower arranging, Exercise to music and quizzes. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as they can, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.

Cara Nutt

Activities Coordinator Lead

I joined Cheverton Lodge in 2024 as an Activity Coordinator. I completed a Health and social care level 2 and performing arts at college. I have worked as an activity coordinator in a care home setting for over 5 years. I love my role, the passion and drive it gives me to ensure everyone receives a fun and fulfilled lifestyle, which is person centred to them.

I love being creative, I sing in my spare time alongside playing the electric guitar, piano and also writing my own music. I look forward to my journey here at Cheverton lodge, and bringing lots of fun!

Life at Cheverton Lodge Care Home

It's Shrove Tuesday at Cheverton Lodge!

Its Shrove Tuesday at Cheverton Lodge and our fantastic chef, Laeeq prepared delicious pancakes to celebrate the day. Delicious homemade pancake's with a choice of delicious toppings, - including lemon & sugar, strawberries, ice cream, banana and apple with honey!

Many went for the traditional good old lemon and sugar, but the winner was apple and banana with honey. A winning combination!

Residents at Cheverton Lodge enjoyed finding about the history of Pancake Day and remembered the reason for celebrating the occasion, which is to mark the beginning of Lent.

Residents and staff truly enjoyed the performance! The costumes were lovely, the piano playing was wonderful and the singing was just amazing.

A great performance followed by a lovely afternoon tea prepared by our chef and his team. A wonderful afternoon was had by all.

Health and wellbeing session with the Tottenham Hotspurs foundation

Residents at Cheverton Lodge enjoyed a fantastic Health and wellbeing session with Adam Millar from the Tottenham Hotspurs foundation. Adam gave us hints and tips on keeping well and lead an exercise session. Residents were also joined by 5 other Barchester Homes and members of the community. Residents said the really enjoyed the talk and had fun doing the exercise session. Brigid, 100 years young particularly enjoyed the session as she loves to exercise.

Pastry baking at Cheverton Lodge !

Residents have been busy baking up a storm and made these lovely French Palmiers. The delicate pastries were fun to make but even better to eat.

We enjoyed them at afternoon tea. They were so delicious we are going to bake them for our valentine celebrations.
