Activities at Cheverton Lodge Care Home
Our Activities Coordinators are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians, as well as art therapy, flower arranging, Exercise to music and quizzes. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as they can, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.

I joined Cheverton Lodge in 2024 as an Activity Coordinator. I completed a Health and social care level 2 and performing arts at college. I have worked as an activity coordinator in a care home setting for over 5 years. I love my role, the passion and drive it gives me to ensure everyone receives a fun and fulfilled lifestyle, which is person centred to them.
I love being creative, I sing in my spare time alongside playing the electric guitar, piano and also writing my own music. I look forward to my journey here at Cheverton lodge, and bringing lots of fun!

Merry Christmas !
The residents at Cheverton Lodge were all smiles when they received a visit from Father Christmas bringing them their gifts. The day was filled with visits from loved ones, creating special memories. Our head chef pulled out all the stops on Christmas day to ensure the veg were prepped and the turkey was basted to perfection. Our residents enjoyed a turkey dinner with all the trimmings, followed by Christmas pudding and whipped cream or brandy butter for that extra bit of indulgence.

Christmas trip to see the lights !
Residents had the opportunity to see the stunning sights of the big city, enjoying the world famous lights of Oxford, Regent Street and New Bond Street. All the big names were also on the 'must see' list, including the likes of Big Ben, Lord Nelson himself at Trafalgar Square, The Parliament, Piccadilly Circus and the stunning Fortnum & Mason.

Maria, from our life enrichment team, along with residents from Cheverton Lodge have been giving the finishing touches to our downstairs lounge peacock inspired Christmas Tree. This week residents are excited to be finishing off their Christmas table centrepieces and festive creations that will decorate our beautiful home.

The team at Cheverton Lodge will be supporting Wayne Hughes Regional Director at Barchester Healthcare, who is taking part in a 63 mile cycle challenge on the 28th November to raise money for the Barchester’s Charitable Foundation and Macmillan Cancer Support.
Cheverton Lodge will be raising money in the home with a guess the sweet, Christmas cakes baked by our chef, handmade 2022 calendars and a great raffle, thank you to those that have donated prizes.
Come along to reception to buy a ticket and help us raise much need funds for 2 amazing charities.
