Activities at Claremont Parkway Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Hubby's Birthday Surprise

Our resident Joan wanted to suprise her wonderful husband on his birthday when he came to visit her. Michael joins us everyday to spend it with Joan and we wanted to make his day special for him as he celebrated his 79th birthday!

Big Garden Bird Watch Ready

In support of our little feathered friends our residents have been creating natural bird feeders for the 'Big Garden Bird Watch'. We can’t wait to which birds take advantage these scrumptious fir cones full of goodness!

Claremont Parkway Care Home is run by Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK’s largest care providers, our varied life enrichment programme keeps residents active, and provides a daily choice of engaging physical, mental and spiritual activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities.

Chocolate Cake Day!

To celebrate today's 'International Chocolate Cake Day' we've been busy tasting a variety of delights!

From the Chefs homemade chocolate cake in our cafe area (getting eaten so quickly I nearly missed getting a photo!) to the chocolate tasting session we had in the afternoon which even included gluten and lactose free chocolate for our residents with intolerances.

It was lovely getting together for our Chocolate inspired activities booklet with chocolate on the side!

Burns Night Baking

On Wednesday 25th we celebrated Burns Night by baking a traditional Scottish Dundee cake, the residents thoroughly enjoyed mixing all the ingredients and tasting their amazing cake once baked by Chef. This will definitely be on our list of things to make again!

Outspoken Artist Day

On the 19th January our residents enjoyed celebrating Outspoken Artist Day 'Outspoken Artist Day'.

Outspoken artists includes musicians, painters, writers, actors, and anyone else who uses their creative voice to express themselves. Outspoken artists are often considered to be rebels, and they aren’t afraid to stand up for what they believe in. They aren’t afraid to break the mould and try new things, and their creativity often inspires others to do the same. Very much like our residents during their art sessions!

Busy Bees Pen Pals

We got busy today starting to write letters to Busy Bees as we’ve started a new Pen Pal project with their young students. Our residents are saying hello by sending a photo, and other bits of information all about themselves along with a a drawing.

We cannot wait to deliver these to the children and get our replies
