Activities at Claremont Parkway Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Elain Carey
Hi. My name is Elain and I help to deliver the daily programme of activities and entertainment and celebrations - there is always a birthday to celebrate! I like to see residents making friends and chatting with each other. I have a background in dance, music and acting, and I am also a qualified Zumba instructor, so I love it when we have entertainers in the home. We also have regular visits by therapy pets which residents find very relaxing.

Life at Claremont Parkway Care Home
Happy Mother's Day
Everyone felt the love of Mother's Day today here at Claremont Parkway, and we've overwhelmed our wonderful ladies with beautiful flowers.
Our activities team gave out daffodils this morning and more flowers were donated by a resident’s family member which we added to each bunch. Our ladies rooms smell as sweet as the smiles on their faces with fragrant spring flowers.
“Mothers are like glue. Even when you can’t see them, they’re still holding the family together.”
Nutrition and Hydration Week
To celebrate nutrition and hydration week here at Claremont Parkway, Activities and Kitchen teamed up to create this whole trolley full of fruits for the residents to enjoy a healthy snack.
Cakes for Comic Relief
What a day! We all came together and made cakes for our cake sale to raise money for comic relief today.
At 50p a cake, we managed to raise just over £40 and we found out at the end that Adam the partner of one of our residents is going to match it! Meaning we managed to raise £80 for a good cause. Anything helps and Claremont parkway did their bi
Snow Fun!
When there's snow, there is entertainment!
The residents watched in the conservatory as staff had a snow ball fight, we had a little slip but Debbie was back on her feet for another round and of course we had to make a Claremont Snowman.
Sparkling Duo
We had the lovely mother & daughter duo visit us the other day, to sing us some tunes. They never fail to put a smile on our residents faces and you'll always see them tapping their feet
They also suprised us with a gift of sleigh bells as our christmas tree was a winner in their competition! Thank you ladies, we love having you entertain us.
Celebrating World Book Day
The bookshelves at Claremont Parkway are bulging as our book worm residents were keen to get involved in World Book Day. Staff also couldn’t resist taking part in their own special way by dressing up as characters from some of their favourite children books to make the residents smile.
Elain the homes Activities Assistant, AKA ‘Velma’ from Scooby-Doo commented: “Many of our residents love to read, or have us read to them and today we discussed their favourite books. We recalled story lines and characters the childhood books they read and more recent novels. World Book Day is a fantastic opportunity for us all to spend the day reminiscing and having fun.”
Natalie Maxwell, General Manager at the home, said: “It has been a brilliant day, our residents love it when the staff get dressed up.
Elain came in as Velma with Becca our Head of Housekeeping and I dressed as ‘Thing 1 and 2’ from The Cat in the Hat. Housekeeping Assistant Celia dressed as Little Red Riding Hood, and Debbie from Housekeeping made a most fantastic ‘Gangster Granny!”
Our varied life enrichment programme keeps residents active, and provides a daily choice of engaging physical, mental and spiritual activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities.
