Activities at Claremont Parkway Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Santa and his Reindeers Visit Claremont Parkway

Yesterday our residents were delighted to meet some extra special visitors at Claremont Parkway care home. Organisers at the home invited Father Christmas and his reindeer to bring some festive cheer to Kettering in the run up to Christmas Day.

Angel, Activity Coordinator wrote to Santa on behalf of the residents and local nursery children to request a flying visit to the home.

Santa's Elves set up a pen in the homes gardens so the reindeers 'Boris and Misch' could rest and be fed before they came into the home to meet many residents in their rooms as Santa sat in his grotto to meet the children from Busy Bees and confirm each are on his 'good' list. Santa and his elves handed out presents and reindeer dust to guide the sleigh on Christmas Eve.

Natalie Maxwell, General Manager at Claremont Parkway said: “We had a fabulous afternoon! Father Christmas gave out presents as his elves read a story to our residents and the visiting children. It was an extra special birthday surprise for resident; Michael who turned 83 and was visited in his room by both reindeer!"

The magic of Christmas is very much alive at Claremont Parkway, for more images and to view the press coverage please visit our Facebook page @BarchesterClaremontParkway

Christmas Crooner!

Lovely Laura from the home's housekeeping team had a Christmas surprise up her sleeve by introducing the residents to her crooner dad; Ian who delighted us all with a medley of Christmas songs, and swinging tunes from the 50's and 60s.

Ian was such good fun chatting away between songs with jokes and stories. We look forward to having you entertain us again very soon. Thank you from all at Claremont Parkway.
