Activities at Cossins House Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Lisa Unsworth
I have been working in care since the age of 16, when leaving school. Over the years, I have been a senior care assistant, administrator, home trainer and activities coordinator. I really enjoy working with the elderly residents.

Life at Cossins House Care Home
School Choirs for Christmas
It was an absolute pleasure for our residents to welcome St Matthews School Student and Notre Dame School Lestonnac Choir to perform at Cossins House to celebrate Christmas.
The students were all amazing and gave us a Christmas to remember.
The voices were incredible and we were all bale to join in and have a fabulous sing along.
Christmas Party 2024
Residents and Relatives all had a wonderful time at our Christmas Party celebrating 2024.
Everyone enjoyed a delicious buffet lunch, party games and live music by the wonderful Jane Beaumont.
Residents and family members took to the dance floor and celebrated together, singing along and performing to others.
Several party goers got up and danced to the Twelve Days of Christmas, showing all the actions.
Many happy faces and smiles throughout. We look forward to 2025.
Shetland Pony Visit
Residents at Cossins House were so delighted to meet Daisy the Shetland Pony.
Daisy came along with her owner Nikki from Equine Harmony Surrey to visit our home and for residents to pet and stroke the pony.
Many of our residents spent their years with horses and ponies and talked about their memories. Resident, Margarita, was touched by meeting Daisy and remembered all her horses from when she lived in Ireland.
Residents asked about how old Daisy lived to, which was an impressive 13 years! It was a pleasure to be able to link with our pastime and we look forward to seeing Daisy in the New Year.
Autumn Crafts
Residents at Cossins House like to get hands on and create pictures as well as enjoying their seasons.
Our residents decided Autumn pictures would be good and took off out in the garden to collect different leaves. Some decided to draw around the leaves whilst others used them for printing or copying.
All had a wonderful afternoon and gifted their pictures to others in the home.
Pumpkins
Residents at Cossins House were happy to get creative and carve pumpkins for Halloween.
They had lots of fun getting messy and digging out their pumpkins ready for our chef to make them Pumpkin Pie.
Each resident designed their own and got into a competition of whose would be better whilst reminiscing about their lives.
Sunday Mass
Sister Anne had a lovely Sunday out with staff members Andy and Josielyn.
Staff took Sister Anne to Church to receive Holy Communion followed by a wonderful trip to Epsom to do some shopping.
Sister Anne was delighted to get out and do the things she loves. Sister Anne was overwhelmed with happiness when Josielyn took her home for a cup of tea and to meet her family.
