Activities at Cossins House Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Abbey Road comes to Cossins

Residents at Cossins House love to listen to music by the Beatles. It reminds them of times at home with their loved ones. We decided to bring Abbey Road to Cossins House by designing our own crosswalk outside Cossins House for a fun photoshoot. All residents enjoyed taking part and spent most of our afternoon laughing and reminiscing.

A trip to the Beach

Residents at Cossins House wished to go to the beach. Resident Anne said ‘It has been ages since I went to the beach, I would love to have a paddle.’ Residents set off to Hayling Island for the day. Some decided to have a dip in the sea. Everyone enjoyed a delicious Fish & Chip lunch followed by ice cream and a cup of tea. The sun was shining and we look forward to going again.

Claremont Gardens

Residents went out on a lovely trip to Claremont Gardens for afternoon tea. Resident Ruth said  ‘This is one of my favourite places as I use to live across the road’.  The scones were delicious and very big, full of jam and cream, one of our favourite snacks. Looking over the lake and enjoying the most beautiful view is something we have always loved to do.

Baby Nylah

Care Assistant Nicole brought her gorgeous little girl Nylah to visit our residents. When Nylah was born residents loved to cuddle such beautiful tiny little girl. One year on and Nylah is up on her feet and very friendly. Nylah spent time with our residents smiling and making their afternoon a very happy one. Residents love to spend time with children and watch them play.

Visiting my sons Nursery

Our lovely Pat was absolutely delighted to go to her sons nursery. Pat enjoyed a trip to Cedar Nursey to look at all her sons achievements and was so very proud. In pat’s word’s ‘ I must say I am very  proud of my son, this looks amazing’. When returning from the nursery Pat spent the afternoon telling all our residents about how well her son has done and how beautiful he had progressed and turned a field into something so beautiful. Pat also enjoyed standing behind the desk to pretend she was a new employee.
