Activities at Cossins House Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Lisa Unsworth
I have been working in care since the age of 16, when leaving school. Over the years, I have been a senior care assistant, administrator, home trainer and activities coordinator. I really enjoy working with the elderly residents.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Cossins House Care Home

Top Hat & Tails
A super afternoon of fun and laughter with the Rah Rah Theatre Company who performed Top Hat & Tails. The interaction with residents were delightful. The laughter was beautiful. Resident Elizabeth said ‘That was one of the best I have ever seen, they were so good’. Entertainment is a huge joy for us here at Cossins House. We love to make every moment matter.

Flower Arranging
Residents really enjoyed making their own flower arrangements in our sunny garden to decorate our dining room tables. Many of our residents have enjoyed flower arranging throughout their lives and like to get out in the garden to get their own cutting to brighten up our home. This has been a huge success with residents and they now continue to enjoy this each week.

Bocketts Farm
Residents at Cossins house went out on a wonderful trip to Bocketts Farm. Many hadn’t visited the farm since taking their own children. It was a delightful afternoon being able to pet the animals and feed them. Our residents are very fond of animals as many worked on farms in their past time. After visiting the animals we popped into the tea room for a cuppa and an ice cream.

Get Barchester Moving
Residents have been taking part in a variety of Activities which continuously keep us moving. We have walked around the garden many of times making a list of all the different names of our plants and even taken to the dance floor alongside daily exercises sessions. We enjoy keeping active and stimulated in our minds, body and soul.

Painhill Park
A very lovely afternoon at Painshill Park in Cobham Surrey with a wonderful tour by Warren followed by afternoon tea. Our residents were amazed at the Crystal Grotto and enjoyed hearing about all the history of the park. We got to go on their new electric buggy in the glorious sunshine. We saw many goslings and other wild life. Warren gave us all a crystal from the grotto as a souvenir.

Trip to Liberty's in London
Margarita was so delighted to go back to Liberty’s in Regent Street London where she used to work. Margarita’s first impression was delightful as she instantly remembered where she was. Margarita met with Customer Service Advisor Ian who kindly gave us a tour of Liberty’s and talked about the history of Liberty's. She was very happy when she spotted the wooden animal carvings on the 2nd floor. After a wonderful trip to Liberty’s Margarita was taken on a tour around London to reminisce with her past which was an absolute joy. It was even more fun to travel on a bus and arrive back to Cossins House by train.
