Activities at Cossins House Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Lisa Unsworth

Activities Coordinator

I have been working in care since the age of 16, when leaving school. Over the years, I have been a senior care assistant, administrator, home trainer and activities coordinator. I really enjoy working with the elderly residents.

Puzzle Afternoon

Puzzle afternoon at Cossins House is a great time to work as a team. Residents get together in groups and are each given a 100 piece puzzle to enjoy and see which team can complete theirs first. Prizes are given out for the fastest team. Each week we change our teams to make the days more enjoyable.

Painshill Park

Residents at Cossins House enjoyed a wonderful afternoon out to Painshill Park in Cobham Surrey. Painshill is a beautiful place to visit with amazing views and a gorgeous Grotto. After a fantastic walk around the lake we sat and enjoyed cream scones and tea.

Minibus Outing

On Wednesday 16th June, residents at Cossins House enjoyed a lovely trip out on the minibus to the River Thames under Walton Bridge. The sun was shining and we got to feed all the swans, ducks and geese. We visited the little café after and enjoyed a lovely cup of tea and ice cream.

Walking Club

Walking Club has been a joy to all. With the weather warming up, we have been making the most of the garden. Residents take a walk every morning and every afternoon, soaking up the Vitamin D and looking at all the lovely things we have in our garden. After our walk, we sit together to socialise whilst enjoying refreshments under our beautiful gazebo.

Green Fingers

A fun and messy morning at Cossins House this morning. Residents potted their own flowers to put in our beautiful garden. We love to be hands on and help out with gardening in our home.

Wildlife Wonders

Cossins House's garden is a beauty spot for wildlife. We are greeted daily with ducks and Egyptian geese, which tap their beaks on our windows. We love to walk around the garden every day and enjoy the beautiful views.
