Activities at Fairview House Care Home

Our Activities Coordinators create a weekly planner that consists of a variety of activities, which caters to all residents' needs as best as possible. The most popular activities are bingo, which we host twice a week, flower arranging and weekly visits from Vinnie our pet therapy dog. Residents also enjoy minibus trips in the nicer weather and we attend a concert every month. We are also involved in the Council Well-being Team, which keeps us up-to date with upcoming events within the community and provides interesting ideas for activities we can try in the home.

Throughout the year, we host various special events, including themed open days and summer and winter fetes that people in our local communities are welcome to join us for. We also have monthly church services with Rev. Ann from Danestone Congregational Church, which is open to loved ones as well.

Trip to local Supermarket

We enjoyed a trip out to our local Tesco for a tea/coffee and cake.

We all had a lovely time filled with many chats and laughs. Since the weather is getting warmer we are trying to take different residents out each week to enjoy some fresh air and one another's company.

Home celebrate Easter in style

Staff and residents at Barchester’s Fairview House care home, in Aberdeen, celebrated Easter with a whole host of different activities including Easter Bonnet making, baking for our Easter bake sale and having the Easter Bunny visit!

Residents at Fairview House enjoyed an eggs-tensive range of Easter activities, from taking part in Good Friday crafts and attending our weekly church service to getting a visit from the Easter Bunny and having every resident receive a chocolate egg which were kindly donated to the home from Marine Technical Limits.

Celebrating International Women's Day

In the afternoon we celebrated International Women's Day by having a lovely afternoon tea. We wanted all the ladies in the home to know just how much we all love and appreciate them, so what better way to come together and enjoy some lovely cakes, biscuits & teas/coffee together.

We all had such a fun day today and was amazing to see so many residents joining in on the activities!

A Visit from Moo Music Aberdeen

‘We had such a wonderful visit today from Moo Music Aberdeen who came in to do a music and movement class with some of our residents.

Everyone had such an amazing time and it was so lovely to see so many smiles all morning!

We all had so a great time dancing, singing and playing some instruments. We already can't wait for their next visit to the home!

A huge thank you to everyone coming in and making our morning so much fun.’

Human Hungry Hippos

We started our morning by playing a giant game of human hungry hippos! This was such a laugh and everyone loved being involved and taking part.

The residents went head to head to see who could collect the most balls with the grabber device whilst being gently pushed into the centre of the room.

A huge well done to Kathleen who was our winner today and collected an amazing total of 22 balls!

St Patrick's Day

Residents and staff at Fairview House Care Home in Aberdeen celebrated all things Irish for St Patrick’s Day this week. The home was decorated with shamrocks and everyone dressed in green to mark the day.

Held on March 17th, Saint Patrick's Day actually observes the death of St Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, but the day has come to be a huge celebration of Irish heritage and culture.
