Activities at Fairview House Care Home
Our Activities Coordinators create a weekly planner that consists of a variety of activities, which caters to all residents' needs as best as possible. The most popular activities are bingo, which we host twice a week, flower arranging and weekly visits from Vinnie our pet therapy dog. Residents also enjoy minibus trips in the nicer weather and we attend a concert every month. We are also involved in the Council Well-being Team, which keeps us up-to date with upcoming events within the community and provides interesting ideas for activities we can try in the home.
Throughout the year, we host various special events, including themed open days and summer and winter fetes that people in our local communities are welcome to join us for. We also have monthly church services with Rev. Ann from Danestone Congregational Church, which is open to loved ones as well.
Fairview House Activities Team
Chloe, Cecilia and Veronica make up our fantastic Activities Team here at Fairview House.
They develop and oversee an active living programme for each resident, which encourages mobility, social contact, independence and fun. Each and every person can thrive and live to their full potential with no day ever being the same. They bring great enthusiasm and spark to the home and have one passion, which is to deliver an amazing and vibrant activities programme to cater to all tastes and abilities.

Lara, Operations Manager at Fairview House would like to thank the amazing Nursing team here for the care compassion and support they give the the Residents families and each other.
Sensory Edible Flower Sculpting
Residents in Memory Lane have enjoyed a sensory edible flower sculpting this week. Everyone had a lovely time creating their own flowers and it was very enjoyable that we got to eat them after!
This is such a simple yet effective activity and has shown a positive reaction with our residents. All you need is some fondant icing and chocolates then you can create whatever you wish!
Virtual Sensory with the Historic Royal Palaces
Our residents had a delightful time during a special virtual sensory storytelling event, led by Art Historian Jon Sleigh from the Historic Royal Palaces.
Jon took us on a journey to discover some of the more unusual and unexpected inhabitants of the palaces and the Tower of London, sharing fascinating stories about the pets at the palaces.
Whilst enjoying the virtual experience, our residents were treated to hot beverages, delicious biscuits, berries and cakes.
It was a truly lovely time for all.
Coronation Celebrations fit for a King
We started our morning by watching the coronation and getting everyone together to enjoy one another's company whilst doing so.
In the afternoon we held the most amazing Afternoon Tea for all of our residents. We had such a good turn out from all over the home and what fun we all had!
Everyone was so pleased with the amazing spread that was put on alongside endless teas/ coffee and some fizz! Thank you so much to our head Chef Alex who has been working so hard the last couple days getting all the food ready for us to enjoy today!
Another huge thank you to our Activities staff for putting on such a good tea party for all of our residents, seeing everyone so happy is what it is all about! A further thank you to all the family members and friends who also brought in cakes and biscuits for our residents to enjoy as well, it doesn't go unnoticed!
