Activities at Falmouth Court Care Home
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.
Chloe Collins
I have moved to Falmouth from Kent where I was already in place at another Barchester home as the Activities Coordinator. I love providing our residents with fulfilling activities and my specialty is arts and crafts. I have a degree in Fine Arts and achieved a first in the subject. I strive to provide our residents with a varied range of life enriching activities. I like to get to know each residents and their interests to I can tailor activities to individuals interests and hobbies.

Life at Falmouth Court Care Home
Children's Hospice Southwest Talk
We were so lucky to have 2 visits in 1 week from Mary Murfin of @Falmouth Friends of Children's Hospice South West Not only for our Horse Racing Afternoon, but also Mary came along to give our residents an informative and moving talk about all the amazing work Children's Hospice South West do in many locations across the South West. We love to help and support our local charities where ever possible and recently our chef made some lovely cakes for us to donate to one of 'Falmouth Friends' fundraising Coffee Mornings.
Grand National Celebration
Residents and staff at Falmouth Court care home in Falmouth celebrated in style by having their very own race afternoon kindly run by Mary Murfin of Falmouth Friends of Children's Hospice South West. This was to celebrate the 2024 Grand National which ran on Saturday April 13.
Everyone enjoyed some fizz and delicious cakes while choosing the winning horses. Residents and friends were given some ‘Monopoly’ money to place their bets and there were even prizes for the winners!
Enjoying the Sun
Our residents were quick to get out into our lovely gardens and enjoy the sunshine over the weekend. They love nothing better than to be able to sit out in the sun enjoying the birds.
Our gardens are really starting to mature 2 years on from our opening combined with our avid gardening club full of green fingers.
Singer - Bob Seymour
Another spectacular afternoon of music with a new entertainer 'Bob Seymour'. Bob really our residents singing along with a variety of music from the 50's and more. We love a musical afternoon here at Falmouth Court.
Trip to Budock Vean Hotel
Our residents ventured out to a new location last week with a lovely visit to Budock Vean Hotel for a cream tea! Every enjoyed the most delicious scones with jam and cream.
Jam first of course!
We were very lucky and had a break from the rain and managed to get out in the gardens for a picture. During our trip home we visited Maenporth and Swanpool beaches too.
Trip to 'Falmouth Memory Café
We took some of our residents living with Dementia along to the 'Falmouth Memory Café' last week where everyone enjoyed the 'Cober Valley Accordion Band' performed for everyone.
It was a wonderful afternoon and the Memory Café has grown hugely in numbers since the last time we attended. It is so beneficial for people suffering with memory loss due to Alzheimer's and Dementia and our residents love joining when we can.
