Activities at Falmouth Court Care Home

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Spring Has Sprung!

As the weather starts to improve (hopefully!) our resident Gardening Club have already been out planting bulbs and flowers and are very much looking forward to the summer season ahead.
We have a few residents that are very proud of our beautiful garden and very much enjoyed being able to have their input last year as to what to plant where to create a beautiful setting.  Many trips were taken to local garden centres and there was even a crop of vegetables and herbs for our kitchen to use.

Mothers Day 2024

Our residents celebrated Mother’s Day with flower arranging in the morning followed by a special afternoon tea with family members and friends. The home was beautifully decorated with fresh flowers and bunting for the occasion. Everyone had a wonderful day and spirits were high throughout the home.

Drums for Fun Visit

What a wonderful and fun afternoon we had with a visit from Drums 4 Fun. They provide percussion interactive experience workshops designed to promote and improve mental health, self-esteem and wellbeing. Our residents had a fabulous time and some even got up dancing while listening to some tunes of yester year.

Everyone was left wanting more and are looking forward to the next visit.

Music brings such joy to all which is why its such a huge focus for our activities team.

St.Pirans Day Celebrations 2024

We had a wonderful day celebrating St.Pirans Day here at Falmouth Court. Everyone enjoyed some amazing sea shanties sung by Viv Robertson. Our residents and staff thoroughly enjoyed the shanties which of course were followed by saffron buns, scones with jam and clotted cream.

St. Piran's Day was said to be a favourite with the tinners who having a tradition that some secrets regarding the manufacture of tin were communicated to their ancestors by that saint, they leave the manufacture to shift for itself for that day, and keep it as a holiday.

Trip to Princess Pavilions

A beautiful day for a trip out to Princess Pavilion for a coffee, cake and walk in the gardens.

For David it’s the first time he’s been well enough to go out since last October, he’s been in a community hospital since then and has recently come to stay with us. It was a delight to get him out into the community and give him his first pint in months. His lovely friend, Iris, joined us and it was a fantastic surprise for him! Safe to say his smile says it all.
