Activities at Florence Court Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Jessica Duery
I have been working in the Care Sector for 5 years and started out as a Domestic and Laundry Assistant. I decided that I wanted to progress my career in an Activities capacity so became an activities provider then progressed to an Activities Co-Ordinator which I did for 2 years prior to joining the team at Florence Court . I have a real passion for Activities and get a great deal of pleasure in enriching the residents life's through meaningful activities. I love getting to know the residents and spending time with them finding out what they love to do. Every day is very different and rewarding.

Life at Florence Court Care Home
Rob our Head of Maintenance creates individual personalised gardens for the residents
Rob our Head of Maintenance who is a keen gardener has been spending time with some of our Residents finding out about what plants and flowers they like. He has been busy creating some little personalised gardens bringing a splash of colour with dahlias, iris's and pansies. Seeing the big smiles on the Residents faces is so heartwarming. More photos to follow as the work progresses. A big thank you to Rob for all his hard work.
Enjoying a glass wine in the sun
We always like to make the most of the sun at Florence Court in our beautiful garden. Its especially nice having a glass of wine whilst reminiscing over childhood holidays. Our residents always amaze us with the their lovely stories and memories. Its was lovely to hear about holiday's in Skegness, Blackpool, Weymouth and many other destinations. Some of our residents have lived abroad and talked fondly of this.
Florence Court hosted its very own Bake Off!
Last month Florence Court hosted its very own Bake Off. Our residents baked a Victoria sponge cake with the assistance of the Kitchen Team. The staff all baked cakes and brought them in. We had a lovely variety of cakes ranging from swiss rolls to Baileys cakes. We had a tea party and taste tested all the lovely cakes. The Residents then voted for their favourite one. There was tie for first place between Kelly's Gluten Free Chocolate Fudge Cake and Karen's Swiss Roll. Well done to everyone.
Congratulations to Steph Hayes who is March's Employee of the Month
