Activities at Florence Court Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Jessica Duery

Senior Activities Co-Ordinator

I have been working in the Care Sector for 5 years and started out as a Domestic and Laundry Assistant. I decided that I wanted to progress my career in an Activities capacity so became an activities provider then progressed to an Activities Co-Ordinator which I did for 2 years prior to joining the team at Florence Court . I have a real passion for Activities and get a great deal of pleasure in enriching the residents life's through meaningful activities. I love getting to know the residents and spending time with them finding out what they love to do. Every day is very different and rewarding.

Brian

90th Birthday Celebrations

Celebrations have been in full swing at Florence court, as one of its much-loved residents, Brian, reached his 90th birthday in style.

Brian was joined by staff, relatives and friends as he celebrated his special day. Guests enjoyed a wonderful lunch and a beautiful homemade cake made by Head Chef ,Steve Lewis. It was a memorable day and staff and residents were delighted to be included.

Virtual Cruise

How long has it been since you went on holiday? We cruised around the world in one afternoon tasting local delicacies and learning about the culture. All aboard Florence Court’s Virtual Cruise!

Arts & Crafts

What is the best activity for a rainy afternoon? Arts and Crafts! We have been colouring by numbers and aqua painting to brighten up a dull day of rain.

Autumn Décor

We’re getting ready for Halloween and autumn at Florence Court. We’re looking forward to a fun-filled few weeks of autumn and Halloween-themed activities.

Bird Watching

Our garden has been a hub of activity since we opened, with magpies, sparrows, starlings and crows decorating the lawn. We’ve been observing them from the windows and feeding them with treats!

Settling In

We’re taking it easy here at Florence Court. We’ve been relaxing over a cup of tea (or sometimes a glass of cool cider!) and a freshly baked cake, reminiscing over magazines from the past!
