Activities at Florence Court Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Jessica Duery

Senior Activities Co-Ordinator

I have been working in the Care Sector for 5 years and started out as a Domestic and Laundry Assistant. I decided that I wanted to progress my career in an Activities capacity so became an activities provider then progressed to an Activities Co-Ordinator which I did for 2 years prior to joining the team at Florence Court . I have a real passion for Activities and get a great deal of pleasure in enriching the residents life's through meaningful activities. I love getting to know the residents and spending time with them finding out what they love to do. Every day is very different and rewarding.

Life at Florence Court Care Home

Blenheim lights

It’s far too cold to see the light in real life so instead we cosied up by the fire with a glass of red and a warm mince pie to see the lights at Blenheim Palace.

Festive photobooth

To celebrate the start of Christmas, we got in the festive spirit and had a little photoshoot! All photos of all our residents can be found on our Facebook page

Christmas Wreath Making!

Christmas Wreath Making!✨

Our residents at Florence Court have been getting creative by making their own personalised Christmas wreaths.

It was a great afternoon of festive fun and the residents really enjoyed completing their masterpieces. The residents have asked that our home donate these Wreaths to our local NHS heroes and District Nurses that visit us here at Florence Court on occasions.

Pamper Morning At Florence Court

???Pamper Day For Our Residents At Florence Court! ???

Residents enjoyed a morning of pampering by the staff at the home, which involved hand massages and nail painting. It was a great experience for everyone involved!

Olivia, our Senior Carer, commented "I might take this up as a new profession!". We all laughed and said that she should stick to doing what she does best, which is providing outstanding care for our residents.

Christmas Best Dressed Competition Winner Revealed!

Well done to Emma Roberts, Florence Courts Head of Hospitality for winning 1st prize for the best dressed at our Christmas light switch on.

All residents and staff made a huge effort, we had Kelly our homes Administrator dressed as an elf who came 2nd and Rebecca head of Housekeeping dressed as Mrs Claus who rolled in at 3rd place. Even though this competition was for Christmas Jumper Day the residents still put in their votes. The outcome of this was almost unanimous and they decided who won 1st place.

Beryl one of the homes residents commented "Emma has to win the best dressed it would be a crime if she didn't" then continued to laugh.

We all at Florence Court are enjoying every moment of our first ever Christmas.

Without Further Delay 3....2....1 Our Lights Are On

Residents, families and guests gathered together to witness our first ever Christmas light switch on, including a 10ft outdoor tree.
Fareham's local MP Suella Braverman also joined in on the festivities while everyone enjoyed warm homemade soup and mince pies washed down with some mulled wine, laid on by our talented Chef Connor Allan.

The MP followed on to say after she had been given a tour by the Home Advisor Jemma Barr "A huge thank you to all of you for your continued hard work, the home is beautiful and I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year"
