Activities at Hafan-Y-Coed Care Home

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

A couple of residents enjoyed a lunch outing at a nearby pub. It's always nice to get out of the house.

Employee of the Month - October

Employee of the Month - October

Louise has been part of the team here at Hafan-Y-Coed for over 2 years now as our Receptionist/Administrator.

Louise always has a smile for all visitors, residents and team members, and even managed to keep smiling through a 12 hour 'Spin-a-thon' held at the home to raise money for Children in Need.

Louise raised over £300 on the day and all of the residents enjoyed cheering her on and singing along to the music. Thank you, Louise, for being such a great team member!

Barchester's 25th Anniversary

To celebrate this momentous occasion, we had the Mayor and Deputy Mayoress join us for the day, along with the local police force and fire service.

Residents and loved ones enjoyed the visit from Mike's Donkeys and the face painting.

The raffle was a great success – we managed to raise a total of £177.00 for the residents' fund, which will be spent on a big trip out near Christmas!

We had over 150 visitors throughout the afternoon and even made it into the local paper!

Trip to Folly Farm

Trip to Folly Farm

18 residents accompanied by staff and relatives, recently took a trip out in the minibus to Folly Farm in Pembrokeshire. The weather was not on our side for the day however everyone still had a wonderful time! We are looking forward to going back again soon.
