Activities at Hall Park Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Natasha Lindo

Activities Coordinator

Natasha is the Activities Coordinator here at Hall Park. Natasha really enjoys her job as no two days are ever the same. The life enrichment and daily activities program aims to provide stimulation for the mind, body and soul by engaging with residents daily.  We all love to use our imagination and here we encourage creative activities. We also have a minibus which is used weekly to take residents out to cafes, local beauty spots and day trips.

Armchair Fitness

Our residents at Hall Park enjoyed a fun-packed morning with Ross from King Fitness.

They enjoyed moving their bodies to chair based exercise and competitive ball games, and Ross made sure 'competitive' was the key word! One thing about our residents is, they all love to win and take part in a good challenge. We look forward to doing this again and crowning our next winner. May the best person win!

Big Friendly Lunch at Community Garden

What a fun day! Our residents had an amazing time travelling in our minibus to Bulwell Forest Garden, which is a community garden run by volunteers. We joined their Big Friendly Lunch Club, where our residents took part in harvesting, prepping, and enjoying a delicious seasonal meal made with fresh picked produce from the garden.

Everyone had a fantastic time, we ate pasta cooked in tomato and seasonal vegetable sauce with salad, followed by gooseberry, rhubarb and yoghurt made with all the products from the garden. Delicious!

After our meal resident ambassador, Susan helped to wash the pots, as she said ‘this was her way to thank everyone for allowing the home to come to visit and she can’t wait return for another visit'!

Babysitting Duties!

Today some of our residents at Hall Park gave up some of their time to look after our dementia dolls, and they loved every minute of it.

Dementia UK say that ‘caring’ for a doll or soft toy can give people with dementia a renewed sense of purpose and help them connect with the outside world. This can have a positive knock-on effect on their energy, activity levels and mood, and this is definitely how our ladies Elaine and Lilla felt today while holding these dolls!

With a huge smile on her face, Lilla said "I'm happy that my baby is nice and quiet, which must mean the baby likes me and feels safe".

Hall Park's Tribute to Nottingham

Residents and staff at Hall Park would like thank Father Andrew Fisher from Church of St Mary the Virgin and All Souls, Bulwell for coming into the home to do a service and say prayers for the loss of three people who died following an attack in Nottingham on June 13.

Our residents also took part in a minute silence to remember the victims and their families involved.

Residents Mary said it’s such sad times for everyone and it was nice to feel, that having this service, we were showing our respects not only to the victims and families but saying thank you to the emergency services for their bravery and hard work.

Home celebrate Pride month

This June, staff and residents at Hall Park care home in Bulwell, have been creating decorations, festooning their home with rainbows and enjoying the colourful celebrations from around the world.  Lots of the festivities from different parts of the UK and from around the world are available to watch online and residents have had a fantastic time experiencing the different parades and carnivals on offer.

Crafting for the Chelsea Flower Show

We really enjoy celebrating the Chelsea Flower Show! This year, our residents had a lovely time creating their own flower arrangements and displays, discussing the many vibrant colours of the flowers and spending time in the our garden.

Some preferred to watch the Chelsea Flower show in the lounge, whilst other enjoyed various arts and crafts sessions. Kitty was so surprised with how beautiful her flower artwork turned out, which herself and Natasha sat making together in the diner, that she just had have a photo with it! She was so proud, and we think you would agree that they both did a great job making artwork that is absolutely fit for the Chelsea Flower Show.
