Activities at Hall Park Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Hall Park Care Home

Fun-filled week....

Our resident at Hall Park had a fun pack week last week, Monday and Tuesday we had a visit from Creative Paths where we discussed the Queen’s 70 years of reign and tried on hats from different eras which the residents fully enjoyed and we had an arts and crafts session creating art work which will be printed on a cloak for the Queens Jubilee.

Also, we got our bodies moving with our weekly Oomph live dance session, followed by an Oomph activity learning about the life of Nelson Mandela and reminiscing about the year he became president of South Africa in 1994

Eurovision party

This weekend our residents at Hall Park took advantage of the nice weather by having a coffee afternoon sat outside doing arts and crafts and we had a surprise visit from carer Megan and her 10-month-old beautiful son who the residents enjoyed giving him a lot of love.

Also, we had fun with a Eurovision party where we tested their Eurovision knowledge with an Oomph quiz also lots of singing and dancing..

Marjorie shared with the group that her niece Jessica Garlick was a contestant on the Eurovision in 2002 and she was so happy to watch the video again on YouTube

Book corner with Henry Slator

We had a lovely time joining Henry Slator for an exciting virtual event to discuss his book ‘Conversations at the Pond’.

Henry had an unusual writing journey, which many of our residents found inspiring, he underwent chemotherapy in early 2020, which allowed him to rediscover his light-hearted outlook on life by imagining conversations with creatures in and around his large garden pond and adding buckets of fun.

The entertaining Conversations at the Pond, with its mass of colourful illustrations, took our residents along his journey, they felt inspired, cheered and loved hearing all about Henry’s experiences.

St George's Day

In honour of St George, patron saint of England, we decorated our home, dressed up for the occasion and enjoyed a delicious festive lunch, prepared by our talented chef.

We spent some time learning top facts about St George and tested our knowledge with a fun-filled themed quiz.

And to add a gourmet twist to our celebration, we enjoyed tasty lunch especially prepared by the homes hospitality team.

National Tea Day

Yesterday our residents had a fun packed afternoon with a double celebration.  We celebrated our love for tea in honour of National Tea Day by sampling different favours of herbal teas and learning about the benefits such as the resident’s favourite camomile tea that helps with relaxing

Also we had a sing along, reminisced and shared stories about the royal family and looked back at pictures of when the Queen visited a local Vernon park in 2012 for the Diamond Jubilee and we raised a glass (of tea) to wish our Royal Highness, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth a very..

Ladies Day

The ladies at our home had a great excuse to put on their elegant clothes and hats in recognition of the Ladies Day at the Grand National, held annually at Aintree Racecourse.

The day is held alongside horse racing, and is famous not only for the action on the course, but the fashion and entertainment of it.
