Activities at Hall Park Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Activities Coordinator

Natasha is the Activities Coordinator here at Hall Park. Natasha really enjoys her job as no two days are ever the same. The life enrichment and daily activities program aims to provide stimulation for the mind, body and soul by engaging with residents daily.  We all love to use our imagination and here we encourage creative activities. We also have a minibus which is used weekly to take residents out to cafes, local beauty spots and day trips.

Life at Hall Park Care Home

Home present cheque to local charity

Hall Park recently presented Diversify Education and Communities CIC with a cheque for £600. The support of the grant, we organised a heart-warming Christmas event at the Beechdale Community Centre, bringing together over 105 residents for a day filled with joy, camaraderie, and festive cheer.

The Christmas event served as a cornerstone of community unity, providing a welcoming space for residents to come together, celebrate, and create cherished memories. From lively activities and entertainment to delicious food and beverages, every aspect of the event was thoughtfully curated to foster a sense of belonging and inclusion among attendees. In addition to the festivities at the Community Centre, we extended our outreach efforts by delivering food to three supported housing projects within Nottingham.

International Women's Day

Residents at Barchester Hall Park care home in Bulwell marked International Women’s Day (IWD) on March 8th by spending the day celebrating the achievements of wonderful trail-blazing women throughout history and invited the ladies from Nuthall WI to the home for a lovely chat with the residents. The WI is a unique organisation shaped by its members. In 1915, we set out to give women a voice and to be a force for good in the community.  Since then, our members and our ambitions alike have grown tremendously.

Today, we are the largest women’s organisation in the UK and we pride ourselves on being a trusted place for all women of all generations, to share experiences and learn from each other.

Residents join Bingo Bonanza

Staff and residents joined fellow keen dabbers from over 250 Barchester care homes and hospitals across the whole of the UK, including Wales, Scotland, Jersey and the Isle of Wight, to compete in the biggest game of bingo Barchester has ever seen!

The inaugural Barchester Big Bingo Bonanza took place on 27th February 2024 when Hall Park care home got super competitive and took on its sister homes from all over the country to find out which Barchester home or hospital was a dab hand at bingo.  It was eyes down for a full house as the homes battled it out to find out who would prevail.

Social outing for our residents!

Everyone at Hall Park would like to thank the staff and residents at Beechdale Manor Care Home for inviting our residents to their home for a social gathering and a quiz hosted by activities coordinator Jayne.

Everyone fully enjoyed their time spent at the home and getting to know the residents and can’t wait until their next visit.

Resident Glenda said “It was so nice to get out of the home and have a change of scenery while meeting new people, I’m so happy that this will be a monthly outing which means I have something to look forward too.

A flipping good Pancake Day!

Our residents at Hall Park enjoyed watching activities assistant Gareth making pancakes and they had a go at flipping and tossing them too, which was so much fun.

Our residents reminisced about how they loved making pancakes with their family and how some of the pancakes would end up on the floor and even on the ceiling.

Art session with Hugo

Art session with Hugo!

Some of our residents asked for our activities coordinator to organise an art class for them.

So we invited 8 year old Hugo to come in to do an art session

At the class, our eager residents learnt how to draw a teddy bear balloon with Hugo who give instructions and guiding them along the way.

Everyone enjoyed the chance to be creative and have fun in a relaxed and friendly environment.

Everyone at Hall Park would like to thank Hugo for doing such a wonderful job of assisting our residents draw some beautiful pictures

Hugo is raising money for NEST Nephrotic Syndrome Trust, by selling his homemade cards which he draws himself and you can buy at Hall Park reception.

So far he has raised £37.77 by selling the cards at our home.
