Activities at Hall Park Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Natasha Lindo

Activities Coordinator

Natasha is the Activities Coordinator here at Hall Park. Natasha really enjoys her job as no two days are ever the same. The life enrichment and daily activities program aims to provide stimulation for the mind, body and soul by engaging with residents daily.  We all love to use our imagination and here we encourage creative activities. We also have a minibus which is used weekly to take residents out to cafes, local beauty spots and day trips.

Residents Hall Park celebrated Brew Monday AKA Blue Morning!

The third Monday in January is sometimes referred to as ‘the most difficult day of the year’ but this is a myth

We had a session where we sampled different fruit and herbal teas, while having a catch up with a brew to make it a little less blue and talked about the benefits of drinking these tea and about life living at Hall Park

This session went well and everyone gave a good input in our conversations

Although some of the tea was difficult to swallow as they wasn’t quite to our residents taste

Everyone had fun watching each other faces when they drank the tea they didn’t like

Our residents favourite game of weekly carpet boules

Our residents at Hall Park love to get together for their weekly game of carpet boules, where the competition is fierce and everyone wants to be a winner!

This fun game not only uplifts our resident’s spirits but it also includes physical movement which aids their well-being, improves fitness, coordination, confidence and help to build on friendships

Happy birthday Elvis

Our home was transformed into Graceland to mark what would have been Elvis Presley’s birthday today.

It is estimated that Elvis has sold over one billion records worldwide so to honour the undisputed King of Rock & Roll, we all enjoyed a fantastic day of music, fun and dancing.

Our residents had so much fun dancing and singing to Elvis songs and found out some interesting facts about Elvis that they haven’t heard before, watched a short biography about the famous singer and actor and listened to some of Elvis’s hits which got some of our residents up dancing

Residents join virtual event

Staff and residents at Barchester Hall Park Care Home in Bulwell were treated to an insightful talk about Medical Detection Dogs hosted by Emilia Dowse who works as a Regional Volunteer and Fundraising Coordinator for the charity.

Medical Detection Dogs train dogs to detect the odour of illnesses with the aim of developing faster, more efficient and less invasive treatments for patients.  The charity is at the forefront of research into the fight against cancer and other life-threatening diseases, including Parkinson’s disease and bacterial infections.  Their Bio Detection Dogs are trained to find odours in samples such as breath and sweat whereas their Medical Alert Dogs are trained to assist people managing complex, life-threatening conditions including Type 1 diabetes, POTS and severe allergies, by alerting them to an oncoming medical emergency. The work of all these dogs has the potential to benefit millions of people.

Decorating a gingerbread house

Our residents on Memory Lane had a blast decorating a gingerbread house, while singing to festive music.

Sharon from our domestic team gave a helping hand too and entertained us all by dancing with resident Claire.

Resident Mary said she fully enjoyed being creative with decorating part of the house and asked if we could put it in the reception area to show off everyone’s talent.

Everyone was so happy with how nice it turned out.
