Activities at Hilderstone Hall Care Home
Our activities team are, first and foremost, devoted to each and every resident in the home, and strive to ensure that their interests, hobbies, capabilities and individual requests are met to the highest standard. This could include one-to-one chats, hand massages, reading, music therapy, flower arranging, movement to music, arts & crafts, gardening and baking. We also have regular fun, adventurous and stimulating trips, where we encourage families and loved ones to join us. We have close links with the Alzheimer's Society, the local primary school, and Trinity Skills who come to sing with residents. All the staff at Hilderstone Hall participate in activities with residents, offering encouragement, stimulation and interaction for everyone involved, providing the most fulfilling experience possible.
Ellie Robinson
Hi, my name is Ellie and I am the Activities Co-ordinator here at Hilderstone Hall.
I joined the team in November 2024 having previously worked in hospitality and event planning. I am not new to working in healthcare - earlier in my career I trained and worked as a Care Assistant and obtained my NVQ Level 2 and Higher Diploma Level 3 in Health and Social Care.
I bring bags of energy and enthusiasm and I enjoy spending time with Residents, getting to know them individually, their personalities, likes and dislikes. Ultimately, this enables me to plan and deliver a tailored activities programme to suit their wants and needs.
I am also a qualified florist, which supports the creativity involved in the role and I can inspire Residents to participate in regular and new activities and events.
Outside of work, I am a Mum to my young Son, which keeps me busy! In my spare time my family and I enjoy getting out in the the fresh air for walks and there is usually a coffee and cake stop too!

Life at Hilderstone Hall Care Home
Memory Walk
It turned out to be a great afternoon at Hilderstone Hall on Sunday 23rd September, which is when the 5 mile Memory Walk for the Alzheimer’s Society took place.
4 sisters, who are the daughters to one of the ladies who lives with us, arranged for the walk to take place, so while they all set off with their families, we did relay walks around the grounds with a few of our ladies, gentlemen and younger children.
NCS Visit
We had a wonderful surprise when a number of 16 year old boys and girls, who are part of the National Citizen Service, came to visit us. They chatted to our ladies and gentlemen about their interests and lives, and presented a box to each resident with personalised gifts inside. Everyone was very humbled and grateful for this very kind gesture!
Teddy Bear's Picnic
We had a lovely time at our teddy bear's picnic, which was set in our beautiful grounds. The sun was shining, the children were playing and the bears even behaved themselves – and we had great fun with the quiz and hunt. We had plenty of cake and juice and thoroughly enjoyed the day.
August Open Day
On Saturday the 11th August, we held an open day at Hilderstone Hall and welcomed lots of visitors, families and friends. We also hosted a teddy bear's picnic with live entertainment, so there was plenty of dancing taking place. Everyone had lots of fun!
Return to Amerton
We had another lovely trip out to Amerton Farm, where we got to enjoy tea and cake before looking around the craft centre and viewing the animals. One of our Carers also came with her little girl, Sienna, much to the pleasure residents.
90th Birthday Celebrations
Ann celebrated her 90th birthday with her best friend, Sylvia, and all the staff at Hilderstone Hall. She celebrated with her favourite chocolate cake, a glass of sherry and a good ol' fashioned singalong.
