Activities at Hilton Park Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Jenelyn Szabo
Hello, my name is Jenelyn and I am the head of activities here at Hilton Park.
Having started my Barchester journey as a carer back in 2019, I have gained good experience of working closely with our residents. After being a carer I then moved onto the Activities team and thoroughly enjoyed working as an Activities co-ordinator, which led to my promotion to Activity Lead.
Nothing makes me happier than seeing the smiles on our residents faces.

Happy Birthday Monica
We celebrated our lovely resident Monica's birthday with joy, laughter, and a touch of creativity. Monica shared her beautiful cake with everyone, and we all sang together to make her feel extra special.
After our flower arranging session, it was a beautiful day filled with shared stories, smiles, and precious moments.
Happy birthday once again, Monica.
World Photography Day
World Photography Day
To celebrate this special occasion, our activities team spent the day with our residents, going through their treasured photographs. World Photography Day provided a wonderful opportunity for everyone to reflect on past experiences, relive fond memories, and share joyful moments together.
One of our residents, Bill, was particularly moved as he looked through his photos in his room. He proudly shared them with Jenny from the activities team, reminiscing about his 50 years with the Wicken Coronation Brass Band and his time with the Somersham Town Band. Bill's stories really brought the past to life, filling the room with smiles and laughter.
The day truly highlighted the joy and connection that come from looking through old photos, making it a memorable occasion for all.
A day at the Farm
We all had such a lovely day connecting with nature on our trip to The Barn at Spring Farm
From feeding the animals to enjoying the fresh country air, everyone had smiles and laughter all around.
Such a heartwarming day filled with new memories and cherished moments.
A big thank you to Melanie, who kindly gave us exclusive access throughout the whole day.
Hilton Park at the double
We’re overjoyed to celebrate our Divisional winners: Jenny Szabo, our Activities Lead has been name as the Activities Coordinator of the Year, and Jacqui Woolgar has been named as the Resident Ambassador of the Year. Hilton Park couldn’t be prouder!
The afternoon was filled with sunshine, laughter, and dancing to KJ & The Catt . Chef Anthony’s fruit and cake added a special touch.
A heartfelt thank you to the local WI members for making our celebration so special and, in particular, for making Jacqui’s day even more memorable.
The Hilton Park team wishes you both the best of luck with the national award.
Morwenna's wish
Wish Come True
Morwenna was over the moon when our activity team made her dream a reality. Jenny, one of our dedicated staff members, picked Morwenna’s wish from our wishing tree. Morwenna had wished to visit the Owl Sanctuary with her dear friend Monica, and recently, her wish came true.
Morwenna was deeply touched when the staff brought the owl close to her after Jenny had informed them of her special wish to see the owl show. Morwenna has always had a special fondness for owls.
A heartfelt thank you to Suffolk Owl Sanctuary for making Morwenna’s day so memorable. Well done to the Hilton Park team!
Jolly Boy's Outing
Enjoying the simple pleasures at Jesus Green Park! A delightful day with riverside strolls, feeding the ducks and pigeons, and a warm cup of drinks while watching the boats passing by. Dennis summed it up perfectly: 'It feels like I'm on a short holiday!' It was lovely to see our three gentlemen really enjoying their trip, reminiscing about their younger days and sharing their own stories.
Regular outings are just one aspect of our life enrichment program and all the trips we take are at the request of the residents. Our monthly activities calendar boasts a range of outings and entertainment.
