Activities at Hilton Park Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Jenelyn Szabo

Activity Coordinator

Hello, my name is Jenelyn and I am the head of activities here at Hilton Park.

Having started my Barchester journey as a carer back in 2019, I have gained good experience of working closely with our residents. After being a carer I then moved onto the Activities team and thoroughly enjoyed working as an Activities co-ordinator, which led to my promotion to Activity Lead.

Nothing makes me happier than seeing the smiles on our residents faces.

Tea in the Garden

Tea in the Garden

Residents and their families took advantage of the beautiful weather by enjoying a cup of tea in our splendid garden.

Summer Fair

Residents, families, friends and staff enjoyed beautiful sunny weather at our Summer Fair. We were entertained by a singing duo and a ukulele band. There were various stalls and side shows and the local Air Cadets joined us with their Toy Tombola.

As always, our cake stall proved to be very popular and our now famous sausage rolls sold out very quickly!

Everybody commented on the happy and relaxed atmosphere, and especially enjoyed watching Judith, our General Manager, throw wet sponges at Narcis, our Deputy Manager, when he was in the stocks.

Bottisham 1st Cubs

Bottisham 1st Cubs

25 members of Bottisham 1st Cubs came to Hilton Park to plant bedding plants in our main garden to help them achieve their ‘Gardening Badge’. The cubs were busy planting four of our flower beds and they enjoyed fun & games. They will return in a month or two to see how the plants have grown.

Wear Your Pyjamas to Work

Wear Your Pyjamas to Work

Staff paid £1 to wear their pyjamas to work as part of Dementia Awareness Week.

Animal House

Pygmy goats and baby chicks visited Hilton Park and residents were delighted to make a fuss over them. They really enjoyed cuddling the extremely tame baby pygmy goats. The baby chicks snuggled up in the arms of residents and went to sleep.

Royal Birthday Celebrations

Residents and their families and friends celebrated Her Majesty’s birthday by having an afternoon tea party on the patio in our main garden. The sun shone beautifully for us, so we were able to enjoy our afternoon and sitting out in the garden.
