Activities at Hollyfields Care Home
Our Activities programme is formulated using resident requests and feedback from resident meetings. Residents are involved in planning the programme with things they they would like to do throughout the year. There is a mixture of activities that take place including both group and 1-1 engagement. Residents at Hollyfields particularly enjoy movement to music activities enabling them to increase their level of physical abilities and have fun at the same time, whilst others enjoy musical singalongs and food based activities throughout the week.
We have a mini bus that enables us to reconnect our residents with their community in ways that suite themselves as individuals. This can be achieved by visiting local farms, Georgian towns, local attractions and even the local public house for lunch with friends. Hollyfields have a great relationship with their local community and have visits from local organisations such as The Wyre Community Land Trust and are currently undertaking a 12 week funded project from Arts Etc. Residents at Hollyfields enjoy Pet Therapy visits from their pet rabbit 'Thumper' and like to help clean and feed him daily. Relatives can be encouraged to join us for activities and again are very supportive with delivering theme days and fundraising events within the home.

Life at Hollyfields Care Home
Employee of the Month - September 2021
Hollyfields care home residents and colleagues wish to congratulate Sarah on receiving Employee of the Month for September 2021.
Sarah was completely overwhelmed with her nomination, she had no idea how well liked she is by her colleagues, and our residents.
Sarah is a tender and caring lady, always happy to help. We’re very proud and pleased to have her part of the Hollyfields team. Enjoy your voucher and Barchester accolade, it’s very much deserved.
It's Magic Playing Together
Exercises for the mind and memory through the use of reminiscence puzzles, and magic table interactive games. Each can be used as solo, or group activities to promote conversation and teamwork. Our care team love playing along whenever they can!
Movie Afternoon
Many of our residents took a nostalgic trip down memory lane as they watched 'The Railway Children' 1970’s film this afternoon.
Each recalling different scenes and reminiscing when they were younger how they too would wait for trains to come into station and be thrilled as they stood on the local bridges and hold tight as the engines would pass shaking the ground underneath their feet!
It’s so lovely to hear them chatting together about their childhoods.
Employee of the Month - August 2021

Garden Growth and Maintenance
Our Ivy House residents take great care, and pride in their gardening duties. From planting to pruning, they have been hard at work all summer.
The fruits of their labours are a delight to see, from beans to tomatoes all growing strong. They look after the area so well, even ensuring the visiting birdlife always have a place to bathe.
It looks fabulous all year round and is so good for their personal wellbeing. There's nothing better than enjoying the views supping a well deserved cuppa and having a slice of homecooked cake.
Celebrating Carers Week
