Activities at Hollyfields Care Home
Our Activities programme is formulated using resident requests and feedback from resident meetings. Residents are involved in planning the programme with things they they would like to do throughout the year. There is a mixture of activities that take place including both group and 1-1 engagement. Residents at Hollyfields particularly enjoy movement to music activities enabling them to increase their level of physical abilities and have fun at the same time, whilst others enjoy musical singalongs and food based activities throughout the week.
We have a mini bus that enables us to reconnect our residents with their community in ways that suite themselves as individuals. This can be achieved by visiting local farms, Georgian towns, local attractions and even the local public house for lunch with friends. Hollyfields have a great relationship with their local community and have visits from local organisations such as The Wyre Community Land Trust and are currently undertaking a 12 week funded project from Arts Etc. Residents at Hollyfields enjoy Pet Therapy visits from their pet rabbit 'Thumper' and like to help clean and feed him daily. Relatives can be encouraged to join us for activities and again are very supportive with delivering theme days and fundraising events within the home.
Kaylee White
Hi, my name is Kaylee and I joined the Hollyfields care team in February 2021. I love getting to know our residents and I'm extremely passionate about their continued wellbeing and life enrichment through tailored activities. I became part of the Activities team to develop more in this area and expand the type of fulfilling activities and events we provide.

Life at Hollyfields Care Home
Gospel Music Delights
It has been a pleasure today to have the Gospilites back to sing to our residents. The Gospilites are a group of singers who love coming to entertain us here at Hollyfields.
Our residents sang along to the songs they all used to love, we had some tears of joy and lots of happy faces what a wonderful day.
Community Engagement
Our General Manager Alison has been out and about actively promoting our beautiful home, meeting with other healthcare practitioners, local businesses and community groups to showcase our exceptional Nursing Home and invite them to visit.
We have some fantastic events and activities open to the local community to attend. Please look out for our posters and leaflets. We're welcoming new residents and this week we noticed an unexpected guest...A beautiful Peacock has been frequently popping over to roam our gardens, delighting our residents and adding a touch of nature to our days.
Back in Time at Hartlebury Castle
We love taking our residents on day trips with a difference. This week a few of our residents enjoyed a lovely day out to Hartlebury Castle. Worcestershire County Museum at Hartlebury Castle
As we walked around the buildings and grounds we talked about how things had changed and relived memories of old. A big thank you to Alan who joined us, we love hearing stories about the past and hearing more about your life and experiences. The staff were also incredibly helpful and it really does make all the difference.
Happy Birthday 'Maurice'
Today we have celebrated Maurice’s birthday, surrounded by his family and friends. The warmth of the love displayed made it feel like a nice hot summers day! Thank you Thomas for the lovely cake.
Seaside Trip for Birthday Girl
Our Mavis turned 94 a couple of weeks ago. We asked her where she would like to go the most. She said ‘The Beach!’ Now, if we had waited for a good day, we could be waiting until her next birthday! So today it was!
Guess what?! The weather held for us! We had a lovely few hours and chatted about the good old days! We would highly recommend a visit to Just as You are Tea Cottage next to the Severn Beach a lovely little tea room that was easily accessible with wheelchairs.
Family Fun on Open Day
What a lovely day our residents have had!
Our home was open for a family fun day, welcoming you all to come and join us and our wonderful residents for fun, food and refreshments. We had such blast with live entertainment from Barry, a well loved accordion player, our residents have met Barry a few times now and he never fails to put a smile on all of our faces..
Followed by singer Matt… the atmosphere was amazing. The smiles, priceless. The rain… well it came and we shone through it!
We even had a special visit from PCSO’s Nicola and Kate. The ladies engaged with our residents and families and all the excited children who wanted to sit in the car! It’s so crazy how the universe connects us. One of our residents taught at my old high school (Kimberley) and it turned out Nicola was in the year below.
Thank you to our stall holders and to the people that took time out of their day to come and say hello. A huge thank you also to the staff today, those on shift, for your continued hard work and to those that came in early to help and also those that came in on their days off. It’s truly humbling to see such love and warmth.
