Activities at Iddenshall Hall Care Home
Activities here at Iddenshall Hall are an integral part of every day life for each of our residents. We strive to include as many of our residents as possible with the activities schedule. Our Schedule is released monthly and includes activities such as poetry afternoons, indoor games, Bingo, flower arranging, pamper days, quizzes, exercises, various musicians and entertainers, Pat Dog Visits, Music Therapy, discussion groups and trips out in our minibus to local places of interest and further afield to see the Blackpool Lights or to Knowsley Safari Park.
We are constantly asking the people who live in our home which events they would like to see taking place and we endeavor to fulfill these requests. Our aim is to provide a varied and packed schedule which allows for a vast array of skill bases and capabilities. We are in constant contact with local groups and businesses, the local Beaver Scout group are always happy to pay a visit to our home, helping with the garden or coming at Christmas to sing carols for us. We also have a small group of volunteers to help us, including pupils from our local 6th form College who visit once a week.
All the above helps ensure the lives of our Residents are fun and fulfilled.

Life at Iddenshall Hall Care Home
Garden tour
Our residents are enjoying the summer with lots of outdoor activities including: walking around the gardens, outdoor games and gardening plus lots more. Each garden tour is very motivating and there are always many comments about what they see and some also like to pick flowers for their bedrooms.
A Day by the Canal
This week some of the residents from Beeston View have been venturing out again into the heart of the beautiful Cheshire countryside.
Our mini-bus trip out took us to the Venetian Marina at Cholmondeston, near Nantwich where we spent a very relaxing and peaceful afternoon watching the narrowboats make their way along the canal.
The Residents were truly fascinated with these colourful crafts and really enjoyed calling out to the crews on board the boats.
Whilst there we also enjoyed a visit to Dee's Tea Room who gave us a very warm welcome and supplied us with delicious refreshments of coffee, ice-cream and home-made cakes.
It was a glorious day to remember!
4th of July USA Independence Day
The residents celebrated the Independence Day of the United States with a fruit tart where we reflected the flag of their country. We also delve into their culture talking about their history and other details. We ended the celebration with a questionnaire about what we had reviewed before and it was interesting to hear the story of one of the ladies since she was visiting Nueva Your in her best years.
Creating Memory Legacy Paintings
This week we welcomed Gillian Seale from Tailored Yarn - Bespoke Bereavement Books for Families Treasured Memories into our Beeston View home.
The Residents spent a very enjoyable and relaxing day working alongside Gillian to create their own individual memory legacy paintings.
Each Resident took turns to reminisce about their lives and things that were important to them which were then used to create their life history paintings.
The Residents were very eager to tell their own story and were fascinated by each other’s tales.
Gillian then used her skills to translate this information to create an appropriate quote for each person.
Please look out for the paintings which will be displayed throughout our home very soon.
Happy 103rd Birthday Joyce!
This week we celebrated a very special birthday at Beeston View
One of our lovely ladies enjoyed being thoroughly spoilt by both Staff and Residents alike as she reached her 103rd birthday!
Joyce was joined on her special day by the Reverend Jim and his choir from St Helen’s Church in Tarporley who led Joyce and her fellow Residents singing their favourite hymns.
Joyce doesn't like a fuss but she did enjoy celebrating with her friends, staff and members of the choir by having a little sherry and a delicious afternoon tea.
Joyce said that she had had a wonderful birthday!
A Visit from Calveley Academy
Yesterday we had some very special visitors at Beeston View.
The Residents were thrilled to welcome 23 children along with their teachers from Calveley Academy into their home.
The children visit regularly and it is wonderful to see the delight on the Residents faces when they arrive and listen to the chatter of the two generations together.
Yesterday's theme was World War II, with the children working with the Residents to create stunning images from the blitz.
The children were fascinated to learn that many of the Residents had lived through the war and were eager for them to reminisce about their memories of this time.
The afternoon came to an end with the Residents singing the well-known war song 'We'll meet again' to the children. it was a beautiful moment.
Thank-you Calveley Academy, we can't wait to see you again at the end of June!
